Vultures carrying dark diseases hover in the dim sky, waiting for Chu Mu and his soul pets to leave. Then they will swoop down and feast on the rotting flesh of the corpses.
Besides the dark vultures, there are many creatures that live by feeding on soul pet corpses. These creatures were often naturally ignored by powerful soul pets, but once the soul pets die, their proud and dignified bodies are trampled on and eaten by these seemingly insignificant creatures.
As far as Chu Mu knows, some soul pets indeed strengthen themselves by eating the corpses of other soul pets. For example, the dark vultures hovering above the five Horror Wolf corpses they've killed likely possessed the strength of eighth-rank War Generals. If they worked together in groups, they could have immense combat power.
