It was early in the morning. After Lin Yi and Qiao Xin finished their ward rounds, they returned to the department to rest.
"Brother Lin, if you're tired, go and rest. I'll keep watch tonight."
"No need," Lin Yi said, "Girls shouldn't stay up too late. Director Li's lounge has a bed. The two us can sleep there."
"Brother Lin, you're so considerate."
"Don't fall in love with a man who doesn't come home. I'm someone you can't afford to love."
"It's fine. I'm willing to be a fish in Brother Lin's pond."
"Hey, you little charmer."
The two of them chatted for a while longer before Qiao Xin went to rest.
"Finally." Lin Yi relaxed. "If you don't leave, how are the other nurses going to have a turn?"
The nurses at the nurses' station also worked shifts. Some worked the first half of the night, while others worked the second half.
