Locking the door to my room after I entered the window, I sat on my bed and called out to Azura. "Ugh, what is it?" A faint voice rattled in my head. Materializing next to me, she hunched over, leaning on my side.
"AH! You're ok! That's great, I was worried that you were severely injured. It's a good thing you are not, otherwise, I would not be able to get more info on the world, at least the information unknown to the humans. Speaking of which, my first question is did the Gods create this world, or was it here before you became, well, Gods?" I said with curiosity. Indeed, this is a very important question, as It will help me grasp, if slightly, how powerful these Gods are.
"As you are my master, I suppose you do deserve the information I have about this world, or what you think to be one. As for the question, this world was not created by the gods, but by a more powerful being than us. With all our knowledge, the only explanation we could come up with for why this being decided to create this world is because it might be an omnipotent being that has to create a balance between life and death.
Although it is just speculation, we Gods felt that our existence was also created by this being, which is almost impossible to grasp, as our collective efforts can destroy this planet in seconds. Even one of the main Gods can destroy part of the world with a snap of his/her fingers. Although we might seem powerful to the species that inhabit this earth, we will never be strong enough to reach the level of the Creator, as we call it." Azura said, waiting for my next question.
"Alright, so you are saying that the world was built by someone or something, correct?" Azura nodded. "Ok, next question. You said that this world was created by something other than the Gods, but where the species that inhabit this world were created along with it or were they created by you Gods?"
"Although the world was created by the Creator, we did create these species. To be specific, the species we created were the Demon race, the Dragon race, the Giant race, the Angelic race, and the Vampiric race. Though it is one of the most noticeable species, humans were a bi-product of the Demonic race and the Angelic race. These two may seem contradictory, and you would be right about that, but something amazing happened during the intermixing of these two races.
"It seemed that wanting a change in lifestyle, the Angels and Demons had interracial relationships, under God's noses. Before the gods could notice, a whole new race was made, with both Angelic and Demonic blood flowing through their veins. As both elements could naturally not be with each other for long, the 'Humans' expelled the Angelic and Demonic blood, but could not get rid of the aura, thus creating magic.
"Many traits were passed down through the Human bloodline, such as greed, pride, lust, and other evil natures. That is not to say that Humans did not have a good side, which is brought out by the environment they grow up in. should they grow up in a distasteful environment, the Demonic bloodline interferes with the balance, expunging the Angelic bloodline from the human, leaving all the nasty attributes to fester inside.
These were in the earlier days of the humans, which have slowly started to lose such a bloodline, making the auras less potent, creating the passive people around you, having bad thoughts but enough willpower to suppress them and keep them from getting out of control. There used to be people with angelic auras, fighting for the good of the people, but those people died out a while ago, leaving no good impressions for people to follow anymore, leaving the Demonic bloodline to permanently take hold.
"Of course, with the banishment of the demons, there is no way that the aura can increase, so it is fine for now, but can and will increase should the conflict between people continue." Azura finished, catching her breath. With teary eyes, I can only guess that she is sad to see one of the most intelligent species fall into such chaos. Putting my arm over her should, she looked up in surprise, then gave a faint smile, wiping her eyes of tears, and nuzzled deeper into my side.
"I understand your pain, and wish I could do something to help, but all that takes time. Another question, if you are ok with it. Before you were trapped inside the mountain, where all the races separated as they are now?" I asked gently, making sure not to provoke Azura again.
"Wait, the species are split up? I thought that they were at peace after the banishment of the Demons! How could this have happened?" She asked, perplexed by this turn of events.
"Although I am not sure myself, I think that a couple of years after the banishment, there was a great war over racial inequality, as it was quite obvious that, with the new species of humans that could continuously grow stronger, while other races had sort of a fixed power level, they had wars, separating them. From an outside source, I found that the vampiric race has all but crumbled, and the pride of the dragon race separates into houses or families, and the weakest ones are scorned.
"As for the Giants, I have not heard anything about them, and that is a bit of a concern, as they might be in hiding. As you said that the Demons had relationships with the Angels, It could also be a possibility, that they, too, went into hiding, probably grieving that their partners were essentially killed and they could do nothing about it.
"As for speculation, I can guess that, with the species no longer cooperating, the increase in monsters must be responsible for the negative attributes of the humans, creating an economic system depending on them. Oh, and there is another kingdom besides this one in the continent which is named Aevum. At least, that is what I know of previous to my, um, split." Azura stated, eyes downcast.
