Chapter 95 - Another Confrontation?!

After the sun had risen over my windowsill, I thought it would be appropriate to wake Ashley up as well. Rolling over toward their sleeping face of Ashley, I gave her a gentle nudge, making sure to control my new strength. Reaching up with slender arms, she rubbed her eyes, opening them like a pair of mahogany spheres.

"*yawn*Is it morning already?" Ashley said, still not woken up from last night's SS (Sex Session). She even looked beautiful waking up, which is something I have not experienced before, as I have never been with someone long enough to have slept with them.

"OH! I forgot that I needed to serve the incoming crowd! Wait, why am I in one of the rooms…oh." She said, looking around the room, finally resting her eyes on me, who was naked and in front of her. Face burning brighter than the sun, she stumbled out of the bed, trying to cover up as best she could. Seeing her distress, I sighed and reached over to my side of the bed, where my undershirt lay, slightly sweaty.

"Here, you can use this to cover up as you make it downstairs. I'm not that careless, you know." I said with a slight smile, getting a slight smile back from Ashley, whose face is still red. Swiping my jacket out of my outstretched hand with a quick thank you, she hurriedly wrapped herself in it and quickly exited my room, slamming the door on the way out.

"First time having actual sex with a woman and I am already hated for it. This is just great. Eh, the spores will kick in soon enough. Now that I am down a shirt and quite a few other things, I think it is time to visit the market, just to see what I can dress myself in. I have infinite money, anyways. Hopping out of bed, I put on my coat and slung my makeshift bag over my shoulder, ready to head out. I felt like I could do without breakfast here, so I won't bother to ask Doug.

Plus, I think he might have something to say about what we did last night. Opening my window, I did a long leap out of it, landing with a thump on the cobbled road. Forgetting about Azura, I Looked down both sides of the road, there was almost no one on it, except for some people glancing at me before walking in the other direction. I get that I was in a dark alleyway, but I don't think they should be so frightened to run away in fear.

How strange. Eh, they probably have something else to do. Hands in my pockets, I whistled a familiar tune as I strutted down the dark alleyway, hoping to eventually run into some kind of market. While on my walk to the market, I had to admire the craftsmanship of this kingdom.

The houses that line the alleyway were not as bad as the ones in the Beastkin village. With light marble-like stone made into bricks, off-white and beige houses stood hand in hand, metaphorically. Tiled roofs reflecting the sun, I could not even imagine how hot the roofs get in a heatwave. Anyways, walking out of the alley, I was faced with a group of people blocking the main road, and I could hear a commotion going on, most likely from the market.

"Kid, what do you think you're doing in our territory?" The leader, at least, who I assumed is the leader by him having the biggest build, best clothes, and best weapons, which are the two daggers with green auras glowing off of them.

"Hey, I am new to this kingdom, so I did not know the rules around here. If you could just let me pass, I would greatly appreciate it." I said, trying to walk by the leader. That would not work. Catching me by the shoulder, he lowered his head to my ear.

"I will kill you in a blink of an eye. It does not matter if you are new or not. Everyone who travels through here must pay a fine of 20GM, lest you meet the edge of my blade." The leader said, trying to be threatening with his two little swords, leaking a bit more aura than before.

"You have not heard the news. I defeated the Crystal Wraith and got 200GM from the King directly. I would advise you not to get involved with me, as the King could easily sweep your gang's murder under the rug, claiming it an accident. So, what will it be?" I said convicted, hoping to get my point across. Although most of what I said is true, I am not sure that the King would immediately comply with my request, if this goes south.

"What a trash bluff! First, you come through our alleyway, say you are new, and then claim to have major connections with the king himself! Alright, joking aside, if you won't pay with Marks, then you will have to pay with your life!" He said, lunging, trying to catch me off guard. I was hundreds of leagues above this trash, so all I had to do was sidestep his blade with a hundredth of my top speed, looking like I teleported. Eyes widening as he realized he could not turn in time for him to block my counterattack, I did one clean slice with my hand to his neck, severing it from his body.

With wide eyes all around, I knew I could not leave anyone here alive. With over thirty people present, I knew I had to release some sensory spores to keep track of them all. Seemingly cracking my neck, I shook off millions of spores, landing on all of the gang members around me. In total, there were 37. Taking a step away from the beheaded body of the gang leader, I readied myself to fight all of them, extinguishing the flame of dought that I was here for something other than to help the city.
