The good thing about this is that there is a lot more women representation, which is something that was lacking back on Earth. Anyways, they all seemed, ahem, mature. Walking up to the most available one, I managed to squeeze through the clusters of people, which I could only assume were Adventuring parties.
"Hello, welcome to Baradoki's Adventurer's guild. How can I help you." the fine woman said, not looking up from what she was doing. Clearing my throat to get her attention, she finally looked up from a clipboard, which was made out of the same wood I keep on seeing throughout this kingdom, which I now know is Baradoki. With a face of indifference and a plastered smile, she waited for what I was about to ask.
"Hello, I am here to apply to be an Adventurer," I said concisely. A bit of confusion showed through her mask, but she immediately went back to the false smile.
"Alright, I will explain how the admission process works, as well as how the ranking system works, as you are new here. First, the rule is that every new Adventurer that applies should start at the lowest rank, as the order of the system might be put in an unbalanced state if the stronger ones started farther up than the people who had worked to climb the ranks from starting weak. Normally, when people with Magic talent awaken, they are first assigned to a Guild, which is around the ages of eighteen to twenty.
"Of course, some people mature later than others, which seems to be your case. As for the ranks, it goes as follows; bronze, silver, gold, diamond, and adamantine. With these ranks, each assignment you complete would add to the experience you have, which is needed to advance through each rank. As for why we do not test physical strength in the beginning, it is because this guild is to build a moral citizen, one that would work for the kingdom to protect and serve it, as such are the quests they have to complete.
"Alright, with that debriefing done, it is time to explain the applying for being an Adventurer. As it is demanded that everyone with magical talent be admitted to the Adventurers guild, from past problems, we have to make an assessment that could be passable by all. To make this, we have a little slip of paper that can determine what the potency of your magic power is, and what would most be suited for your assignments.
"Although this might seem like it would give others a bit of an advantage over others, it is anything but. With this paper," The Procter said, having a little, beige slip of paper in front of my face, giving off a faint aura sort of like I felt from the magic circles at the gate. "As I said, it will make apparent your strengths and weaknesses. This makes it easier to assign you to similar quests that match your strengths.
"Now, without further ado, let's see what you are capable of!" She said the fake enthusiasm is cringy as fuck. Anyways, putting my hand on the indicated marker, made out of red ink, the faint aura I felt grew exponentially. I could feel it invading my system, trying to find my Mana reserves. As I had thousands of trillions of spores, it would take almost forever to find my original spores, which are holding all of the mana in them.
"This is taking a little longer than normal, so I would suggest you wait here while I go get another exam to help with this situation." She said, confusion leaking out of her voice. Hearing tic-tacs over the white noise of the crowds, I tried to inconspicuously manipulate my pores so that the aura, or whatever the paper-magic is, could come into contact with my Mana supply.
If one looked closely at my body, one could see faint rippling all across my skin, as I liquified on the inside. After a couple more seconds of annoying movement of my structure, I managed to link a small portion of the aura to my giant Mana pool. I do not know how it happened, but when I connected the aura, a little flow came out of my original spores, as well as a secondary one, which must have been my Skills, which I do not want to announce to this place.
Worried about the woman coming back, I picked through the extra flow, which had multiple strands connected to it, seven to be exact. Cutting off five and all the sub-skills, all I left was [A+-Mana Wave|Active] and [B--Wind Blade|Active], I let the flow go, making the main strand, which was the Mana strand, funnel out through a tiny exit, making the maximum amount of Mana reduced by the millions, making only a couple thousand left.
Hearing a weird beep from the paper, which I am pretty sure I have heard before, I looked down at the desk, and saw a black color, much like ink that is spilled. Below it, right above the hand print, were a couple of sentences, printed in the same font and the same color as the hand print.
{Skills}
[Mana Wave: High Class]
[Wind Blade: Middle Class]
{Mana Capacity}
[Mana: 34,000]
{Overall Summary: High Class - Hunter Quests recommended}
Huh, it is sort of like the Status sheet I have, but on paper! What confuses me is that it says High Class and Low Class. I might just be used to the letter ranking system, as I have known it for years. Anyways, the ranking system here is in Classes. Good to know. Hearing clicks coming my way, I finished just in time. It was the same woman, only a taller, more beautiful one was behind her. She had long, flowing black hair, fair skin, and a dress that did match the uniforms, only much more revealing.
I suppose that, as a more experienced proctor here, she can be wearing different clothes than the others. Though I doubt she is the actual owner of this place, she did have an air of authority around her. "So, this is the man that the scanners could not examine?" The authoritative woman said quizzically. "Because, to me, it looks as plain as day." She said calmly, picking up the paper, now filled out.
