"What's the meaning of this, what the hell did you give me another chance for if all you're trying to do is kill me. Am I nothing in your eyes, maybe a toy that you can break as you please, is that what I am to you?", Rou was consumed by the vast turbulent ocean that stretched out in front of him, his knees threatened to buckle, what kind of way out is there in his situation. "But no, I will not give up. Everyone has mocked me for as long as I can remember, I will not allow a coward like you hiding in the shadows to laugh at my fate, just stand there and you will see what I am capable of."
Rou raised his middle finger pointing to the sky, his shirt was soaked with sweat after releasing everything he had inside him, "right...you made a mistake" he added. "You gave me one of your angels, I will not rest until I return to his side and seek answers."
Maybe he was going crazy yelling at the sky, was what he thought. The island he was sent to was a half-destroyed prison in the middle of the ocean. Even if Rou got a boat to escape, then what would he do, Rou didn't know how to sail and couldn't recognize the stars in the sky to get to the mainland.
Rou's cell was located in the southern area of the prison, where there were 6 other buildings with the same design around it. Considering the cells he saw on the way, on the island there must have been at least one 1500 prisoners, what kind of person was the madman who locked him in that place.
Rou felt his stomach demanding food, looking towards the raging waves crashing on the rocks a few meters away from him, Rou considered how to get some fish or seafood, but for that he first needed to find a safe place.
Although he remembered the old man's words, Rou did not return with him. The guards at this point must have noticed his disappearance, with the guards on alert, it was suicide to loiter inside the prison believing the words of an old man who was only looking to save his life.
"Still he didn't lie to me, if I don't get a way to escape I'll go with him," he thought.
Rou found that his destiny was linked to the sewers, as he reached the end of the stone corridor that led to a dirt road, he heard the sound of an engine that broke the stillness of the place, forcing Rou to jump into a muddy ditch on the side, where the sewer debris descended into the sea.
Without looking up, pretending to be one of the shit running over his body, Rou heard at least 3 vehicles pass by him.
"Search every corner, there's no way a greaser like him could have escaped from Vargo," one of the men said about one of the vehicles.
"So Vargo is called this damn place," Rou thought inwardly. "I can't let them find me, they seem to have no idea which way to run, for now I just have to find a place to wipe this shit off," after a few minutes, Rou crawled through the muddy ditch making sure no one was around.
The nauseating smell extended several meters around him, even so, Rou endured his own smell and decided to advance towards the lighthouse, while he was shouting at the sky, Rou could see some pipes that could contain water, for now that was enough to improve his situation, besides looking for dry clothes.
The entrance to the lighthouse was locked by a padlock, Rou took out the group of keys and tried each of them in the slot, but had no luck. Prowling around the area, Rou found a small rusty opening leading into the lighthouse.
Rou looked at his own body, even if he held his breath and sent his entire stomach to his ribs, it was impossible to get through. Without giving up, he put one of his hands inside the opening and grabbed everything he could and pulled it out.
After a few minutes, Rou smiled happily at the loot he had obtained. On the floor were two bandages that Rou got from a red first aid kit, a bottle of alcohol and a pair of scissors.
Carefully, Rou used the scissors cutting off a piece of his clothes that were full of shit and stretched it on the floor. Using some alcohol he cleaned the dirt off the cloth and wrapped some small rocks inside.
Rou felt like a fucking genius from an old TV series, using the bandages he tied one end of the bandage to the disinfected cloth and stuck his arm inside the opening and threw it towards his target.
"Come on you can do it Rou," he encouraged himself. When Rou looked inside the lighthouse entrance, he saw a rain suit hanging on one of the walls. The size was just enough to cover his body, and Rou needed to get it if he didn't want to get sick.
The length of the bandages gave just enough for Rou to make it to the hook that held the suit, but his attempt was unsuccessful as the rocks clattered to the ground. Rou kept his guard up at all times, he wasn't about to make a stupid mistake and bring danger upon himself.
Rou had thought about the possibility of people inside the lighthouse, so he waited for the exact moment when the waves broke on the rocks to make his next attempt, camouflaging the sound of his failed attempts.
"You guys check the lighthouse, that fatty can't get out of our hands," Rou heard a group of 3 men walk in their direction.
"Damn, I don't have time anymore," Rou gathered all his belongings and walked towards the rocks. Both men walking in his direction had night vision helmet, it was only a matter of time before they found his trail.
"You take the left side of the lighthouse, I'll go the other way. If the target is here he won't be able to escape from us," ordered one of the guards.
"You bastard, you're not my superior, how dare you give me orders," shouted the other guard named Ted. Still, frowning, he followed his companion's orders and went through the left sector of the lighthouse that reached the dirt road.
"Ted, I found some tracks in this sector, but they seem to be quite old, I'll follow their trail for now, if you see anything don't forget to call me," said the guard walking away from the lighthouse.
"Yeah mom, if I see anything I'll let you know," Ted scoffed as he lit one of his cigars. "All this fuss just for a prisoner, what kind of crazy guy thinks he can escape from the Andreev family's private prison, I don't need to do anything and they'll catch him."
Rou held his breath as he saw Ted a step away from him. Rou had covered his entire body with mud and pretended to be a rock at the end of the path.
Cigar smoke greeted Rou who had grown accustomed to the smell of shit, it had been several months since he had last burned one of them.
"But how can it smell so bad around here, did I step in dog shit on the road," Ted flicked the cigarette butt towards the rocks and looked down to check his shoes. A few seconds later, an awkward silence fell over the place, Rou smiled revealing his row of white teeth, while Ted prepared to draw the gun in his waistband.
"It's your bad luck boy, now be obedient and don't move, you'll soon be back to the shitty place where you belong," Ted smiled as he removed the safety from the rifle in his hands. "Hey Vincent, I've got fugitive, radio an order to come and get him," Ted shouted as he pointed his gun at Rou to get up.
"Y-You must be mistaken, I was just passing by, I'm not the one you're looking for," he said poking a hole with his right leg as he got up from the ground.
"Nonsense, stop playing around and get over here, you should be thankful the boss wants you alive, otherwise right now he would have shot you," Ted pulled a rope out of the bag on his back and walked over to Rou. "Fucking creep, how can you smell like that," Ted covered his nose when he smelled Rou's shitty smell.
"Hey Vincent, why don't you answer, come over here and help me with this greaser and inform the others," Vincent had never strayed too far from Ted, in Vargo the guards guarding the surface worked in pairs, where one of them was in charge of reporting any abnormalities detected.
"Looks like you've been dumped," Rou said while still poking a hole in the floor with his right leg.
"Shut up greasy, it's only the fault of the waves that you can't hear me...By the way, what are you hiding behind you. Step forward and let me see," Ted pulled Rou to the side. "What's that...".
"It's your mistake, you should never have turned your back on me!", Rou kicked the air with all his might. The dirt-filled hole rose into the air, revealing the bandages Rou prepared earlier along with the rocks inside.
Crack!
Ted fell to the ground as the rocks collided with his face, revealing a trail of blood on the ground. Rou began to vomit when he could see a white liquid mixed with the blood, he had no intention of killing the man, he just wanted to survive and escape that damned place, still there was no time to hesitate. Holding the sour taste in his mouth, remembering that it was them or him, Rou took off the man's clothes and used a bottle of water he had in his bag to wipe the shit on himself trying to control his own body by killing a person for the first time.
After a few minutes, Vincent walked to the back of the lighthouse, his partner had not answered his call after one of his superiors called him to verify the plans for the island. Walking along the dirt road that led to the breakwater he saw a trail of blood, reaching out his hands to the ground he noticed that it was fresh and had a bad feeling when he found the blood stretching towards the shore.
