Chapter 4 - Big sister

At some point in the early hours of the morning, Rou opened his eyes hesitantly, near the place he called his refuge, he heard small squeaks in the garbage cans a few meters away from him. "Damn rats, their time will come, for the time being I'll stay here safely while the hours pass."

The rats Rou saw during the day were as big as an adult cat, with their presence a few meters away from him, Rou kept his guard up and didn't dare to fall asleep. In some book he was forced to read as a child, Rou learned that rats on ships used to eat stowaways hiding among the cargo. To the vermin that revealed their red eyes between the openings in the garbage, Rou must have been a large prey that would leave them all satisfied.

"Dare you damned rats, though I have not had the pleasure of tasting your flesh, do not doubt that I will eat you if you dare to bite me," Rou shouted at the vermin who began to shriek with more fury.

"Child, what do you think you're doing in a place like this," an angelic and emotionless voice reached Rou's ears, who was thinking how to cook the rats in case the battle between them broke out. For the moment he left that question to ask Brother Kang or Lone, who were in charge of the kitchen, and focused his attention on the angelic fairy who walked in the middle of the winter night.

"I have no other place to sleep," Rou said feigning a few tears on his face, appealing to the motherly side of the woman who was wearing a leather coat presumably. "If I'm lucky, just maybe, she's the angel sent to me by god himself to make my life easier," Rou thought waiting for the woman's response.

Lilya Morozov was the type of woman who could provoke a war between two nations just to get the right to take her hand, her red eyes rested on Rou's body adding, "This is the boss's restaurant, you better get lost if you don't want them to use force to expel you, tomorrow a dangerous group will come to this place and you might get hurt."

"Is this woman worrying about me?", Rou wondered inwardly, "But...the meeting already took place today, maybe...", Rou looked at the woman for a moment. Her hair was platinum blonde and her figure was hidden by the full leather coat, which came flush with the floor without staining one bit, to Rou it was impossible that the woman could get the date wrong.

"If it's the meeting with Abaroh's mob, they've already left this place earlier," Rou said shivering as a current of icy air passed around them.

Rou couldn't see the slight shivering of Lilya, who hid her lips with a slight movement of her hands. "Only the boss can use Abaroh's name like that, even if you tell the truth, you deserve to receive punishment for it."

"It's not fair," Rou said. "Brother Kang already beat me this afternoon, plus that white-haired madman tried to kill me with a poisoned needle."

Lilya Morosov lowered her hands at Rou's words and asked, "Did that man you are talking about wear a dark blue suit with a gold snake hanging from his neck."

Seeing Rou's repetitive nod, Lilya stepped back and quickly pulled a cell phone out of her pocket. Without looking at Rou, who was imagining what the woman under her coat looked like, Lilya pressed a few buttons and put the phone next to her ear.

Moving a little closer to Lilya, Rou tried to listen to the conversation after the other side answered the call.

"Miss Morosov, young Giovanny is not in at the moment," Rou could hear a woman with a curt tone.

"Put that idiot on the phone, tell him that if he doesn't answer I will activate one of the devices in his body and I will go look for him to hell itself", Lilya's appearance took a 180 degree turn, her kind and fine image was left behind, being replaced by a wild one, where for a moment Rou thought she saw a gray gun strapped to her leg, when a small breeze of wind passed by her side.

After a few seconds, a man's voice was heard, coughing twice before answering, "S-Sister...the doctor said I can't move from home for a while, if it's nothing important can we talk tomorrow. I wouldn't want to infect you, according to the doctor this virus is highly contagious."

"I'm not for your games child, how is it that the meeting already took place, explain yourself well before I eliminate the fatty next to me and then go after you to check that strange disease you say", Lilya sent a cold look to Rou when he tried to see under his coat with the help of the winter wind, "And you, if you look under my coat again, you are dead".

"Yes ma'am!", Rou replied holding back his desire to take a second look at the white lace garter belts that held up skin colored silk stockings.

"Fatty?...by any chance sister, it wouldn't be a chubby guy dressed funny?", asked Giovanny.

"So you know him, it's strange of you to hang out with little kids, did you buy those stupid games again, if so...".

"You're wrong sister, I haven't played in a long time I promise, although I can't say the same for tonight...but sister, that greaser is the boss's new assistant. That guy is new in town, he must have gotten lost after the boss closed the restaurant, if possible...", the call hung up.

"Giovanny! Damn phone company, out of signal again," Lilya tapped the snow the thin layer of snow with her heels and added, "So you're the boss's assistant, if I leave you here you might die of cold, and those rats finish the job."

On top of the dumpsters, about 200 giant rats were lined up watching Rou's body ready to attack. Rou shivered in fear when he saw that some of them were bigger than the ones in the restaurant, "What kind of place is this, how can they grow to that size?" he asked.

"What a stupid question that is, these rats are small. I forgot, that stupid brother of mine said you were new in town. Come on, if you stay here the boss will probably blame me tomorrow for your disappearance," Lilya started walking towards St. Evans Avenue, followed by Rou who raised the middle finger of his right hand at the rats, "You damn vermin, I'll get even with you."

For a moment Rou thought he saw the rats raise their fists at him in protest.

"B-Big sister?" asked Rou after following Lilya for a few minutes.

"Lilya Morosov, that's my name.Only Giovanny and Lone can talk to me like that, I still don't know if the boss will allow you to join the snake pit, so don't ever talk to me like that again, understood?", said Lilya walking towards a black car, "get in and don't touch anything".

Rou began to imagine what it would be like to sleep next to such a beautiful and dominant woman, it seemed that Lilya was the angel sent by god and his luck from now on would only get better from now on.

"My name is Rou, I arrived here yesterday. I hope we will get along well from now on," Rou left those words and did not dare to move. The inside of the car was comfortable and cozy, it was just that the weapons lying all over the place made him understand that the woman beside him was very dangerous.

"I see...We'll go to my apartment, I hope you know how to behave," Lilya didn't speak again and concentrated on the road.

Rou, on the other hand began to become intoxicated by Lilya's scent which gradually clouded his senses. As they moved along the road, Rou was finally able to see beyond the places he knew.

Lilya drove through huge skyscrapers, where the nightlife had not yet stopped even if the snow fell every so often.According to Rou's thoughts, Lilya must have a great fortune, after a few minutes, she parked her car in the parking lot of a building that Rou couldn't see the end of even lifting his head.

"This is my home, remember not to speak unless I command you. Now, follow me."

"Welcome Miss Morosov," said one of the employees stationed at the entrance of the building, "Is the man behind you an acquaintance of yours?" he asked stopping Rou's advance with a disdainful look.

"He is my guest, is there a problem," Lilya said tapping one of her fingers on her arms.

"Of course not, it's a pleasure to have such an important guest in the Soutler building, please carry on."

Rou smiled broadly and felt superior to the employee as he crossed the entrance of the building following Lilya.

"Just a moment, Miss Morosov," the employee said.

"What is it?"

"As one of the finest hotels, we cannot allow your guest to be dressed like that. If you will allow me, as a representative of the hotel, I can offer you an outfit according to our standards absolutely free of charge."

Rou didn't trust the employee who smiled viciously looking him in the eye.

"Mmm, that makes sense. Child, go with him and find something you like, my room is number 901, when you are ready knock on the door twice, don't delay," Lilya didn't look back and went up to one of the elevators at the side of the entrance.

"This way, follow me dear guest", said the employee who walked towards a dark corridor of the hotel.
