"Why? Why did it just eat my mother's wand?"
Nolamine asked. He was still lying down and could not move.
A severed hand floated up in the now clear water and he thought he recognized it. He was sure it was for who he thought it was for after seeing what was also floating beside it.
It was an eye. It had a crescent moon as its pupil and iris. He knew who they belonged to, for she had sacrificed them the last time he was there. It was the Grand Witch's severed hand and Moon Eye.
They both crumbled into dust and turned into green light that fell down onto Nolamine and seeped into his skin like the healing dust Pulchra had crashed and dusted onto him before.
He instantly felt his energy coming back and he was revitalized.
"The power held in her sacrifices has run its course. If she never sacrificed some of her power to facilitate the growth of her new disciple, then this process might have taken at least two years, the pain you felt lasting one of those years."
Nolamine reflexively quizzed his buttocks after remembering the pain he felt. It was like his body did not want him shitting his pants and embarrassing himself in front of Aapep. The pain was just too much to bear and going a year feeling such pain was enough to make someone do just that.
"Are you serious?"
He had to ask.
"I would have had to use a fifth of the power I have mastered throughout the years I was here in order to achieve the same result, but only because my nature is that of distraction, not healing and foresight."
Nolamine was shocked.
"Is she that powerful?"
He asked. He could feel Aapep smile after he asked the question.
"You have no idea. If she went to Panthalassa, she would be considered Fourth Tier. A fit that many never reach, as even reaching First Tier is impossible for many."
Nolamine was now intrigued and had praise for the old woman who looked powerful but not to the scale Aapep was putting her on.
"Then how strong are you, Aapep?"
He asked out of curiosity. He and the Mythical Creature that had struck down the old hag seemed to be on a completely different level.
"You will find out the day you are able to summon me."
He said with amusement, leaving Nolamine wondering how powerful he would have to be, to be able to summon him.
"We have to move on."
He said, cutting that conversation short while Nolamine wanted to ask some more about it.
"Now that Martyr has been born, try to feel him in your body and picture him coming out of your right hand."
Aapep said.
He did as he was told and he felt him materializing in his hand. It was as simple as moving one of his fingers.
Unlike traditional wands, where you would hold it by its bulker side and use its pointy side to cast your spell, Martyr appeared in Nolamine's hand with his bulky side up and him holding him by his pointy side.
He could not describe how he looked. He looked alive but at the same time looked like a well crafted old dark wood with dragon scales that had black smoke continually leaving them.
It turned and looked at him, but it had no eyes. It then yawned and revealed its mouth that looked like a worm's, but with its inside brilliant and bright blue, a stark contrast to its outside appearance.
It looked around like it was looking for something, hungry and ready to eat, but after seeing nothing, it disappeared back into his body.
"What the FUCK is this thing!"
Nolamine yelled. His shock could not hold his polite nature towards Aapep anymore.
"Hahaha, now you are beginning to sound like a true master of mine."
Aapep said.
"You should celebrate, for you are the second to wield such a wand. Only one other Guzzler has done so."
Nolamine already knew who it was, which was someone he did not like talking about, since he was the one who defeated him.
"Listen carefully to how it works."
Nolamine gathered himself and listened.
"A wand is a Mage's or what others call a Wizard's core."
'Awe.'
Nolamine was intrigued. It was already something he did not expect, as he was expecting a core to be like the traditional manga, novels, and anime he read.
"There are three classes of wizards in Panthalassa. First is a Wizard, second is a Warrior and third is a Wizard Warrior. You can also call them Mage, Warrior, and Mage Warrior."
It was easy enough to grasp at first introduction.
"A Wizard has the most stable core and it takes the form of a wand. This allows them to amplify their spells and be versatile in their casting of them but depending on what tier of power they are in. They are dangerous as they can cast spells that can destroy entire armies."
Nolamine nodded.
"A Warrior's core materializes as their weapon. Some call them their soul weapons, which would not be far of. Their weapon's power depends on their level of power also. Their growth is highly dependent on their cultivation technique and they all have tough and steady bodies, making them seem superhuman and capable of destroying a mountain with one single blow when at their highest height of power.."
Nolamine remembered Pulchra. He wondered what tier of power she was in.
"A Wizard Warrior's core materializes in his body."
As soon as Aapep said that, Nolamine knew that he was a Wizard Warrior.
"They can do both what a Wizard and a Warrior can do, but this also stunts their growth as their cultivation is twice as hard then the other two. They do not have to materialize their wands in order to cast spells and they can make weapons that they can band with their cores so to make them grow powerful as they do. Unlike Warriors, they can change them or band many at once."
Nolamine was amazed at their abilities.
"They seem better in every way than the other two."
He said as he praised the Mage Warrior as he thought he was one too.
"It depends on the person. Some think that mastering one thing to its fullest is better than mastering many and in many cases not utilizing them to their full potential."
Nolamine got his point.
"All Nobles are Wizard Warriors, but they can only use the power of their eyes, and not spells."
Aapep said, confusing Nolamine a little.
"You will get to see what I mean. Now about your wand. Unlike others, it has the power of two wands. Your father knew that the Ignitiros Tree would mature in his time, as those previous had told him. He was supposed to steal a powerful wand to use in the process of making his wand and be able to use part of its power. It had to be a Noble's."
"What?"
Nolamine asked. He did not want to think about what he thought about that statement. He even missed the name of the tree Aapep had just said.
"Yes, he had originally approached your mother so to steal her wand. It was the perfect pairing of the two abilities."
Aapep said and sending Nolamine into a void of doubt.
