Seconds before Son-join went into the pool, his father could not help himself but think of what Mi-sun had told him what the ritual was about.
He was surprised months before that when Mi-sun had called him to explain why his wife must come to stay with him where he was and why Son-join had to go with him.
In a way, he was not surprised. He had been away because of his son after all.
When Mi-sun finally met him, she was surprised that the Organization had not picked him up or made a note of him over the years while doing what he was doing.
