A typical wake-up groan was heard, causing Liena to immediately turn her head.
"Miss..." Liena said approaching the little girl.
"I'm thirsty, I'm very thirsty. I want to drink," said An Na in a hoarse voice. Her head felt very heavy.
"This is mineral water, Miss. Have a drink," said Liena immediately giving a glass of water to the little girl after helping her to lean on the bed.
Xiao An Na cleared her throat slowly as she accepted the glass and drank its contents until it was finished.
Feeling better, she surveyed her surroundings. Her brow furrowed as a memory flashed through her mind. A memory of when she met someone at a temple.
'Was it just a dream?' Xiao An Na thought.
"What is it, Miss?" Liena asked when she saw the little girl's strange expression.
"Ah, it's okay, Auntie. I'm fine," Xiao An Na replied. For some reason, she felt a strange feeling inside her, a feeling that bothered her and couldn't calm her down. And the strangest thing was, she didn't know where the feeling was coming from and why.
The only thing she could be sure of was that there was a feeling of regret inside her. But why? What did she regret? It was as if she shared the feelings of the girl she met in her dream.
Then, Liena fixed the blanket that covered An Na's body slowly as she said, "Then get some rest, Miss. I'll bring your breakfast here."
Hearing that, Xiao An Na just nodded in agreement.
Along with Liena's departure, Xiao An Na felt her head getting heavier, dizziness started to take over her head again.
In slow motion, Xiao An Na lay down again.
"Eh?"
She was surprised to find her cheeks wet from her tears. This was so weird, she didn't even realize she was crying.
"Who exactly is that girl?"
"Why did she appear in my dreams and give me this feeling?" An Na muttered as she recalled all the events she had gone through in that strange place.
"Hopefully it's not a bad omen," she added with a shaky breath.
Xiao An Na didn't realize that the dream came because of guilt from her soul. The guilt of the Goddess of life in her previous life. Feelings of regret that carry over into her life now. However, the little girl didn't realize it.
It was all because God erased all her memories until she was old enough to bear all the burdens of regret and past life that she had experienced.
Memories that would appear along with the power of the Goddess within her that would slowly awaken when she reached the age of fifteen.
Silently, Xiao An Na just stared at the ceiling. Remembering all the events that happened recently just to find out where the feeling of regret that was eating at her heart came from at this moment.
Was it all because she accepted the arranged marriage? Whereas she already knew that she was not worthy of anyone. Even she found it difficult to accept herself.
Xiao An Na shook her head, it wasn't because of that she felt this strange feeling. She then searched again in her memory, maybe she had done something wrong without realizing it.
However, no matter how hard she tried to find the cause, she couldn't find anything.
This feeling bothered her a lot. She kept thinking until she didn't notice Liena's presence near her and had been talking to her since earlier.
"Miss..."
"Miss An Na, are you okay?" Liena asked, holding one of the girl's hands, and managed to make her gasp in surprise.
"What are you thinking, Miss? If something bothers you, you can tell me," said Liena.
Xiao An Na stared at the middle-aged woman without blinking then said, "Auntie… may I ask you something?"
"Ask me anything, Miss. As long as it's within my reach, I'll answer it," Liena replied, she then took some food onto the plate.
"But before that, you should have breakfast first, Miss."
Xiao An Na shook her head, "I'm still full, Aunty. Keep the food back, I'll eat it later."
Liena took a deep breath, "Then, I'll answer your question when you're done eating, Miss."
Xiao An Na pouted, "Alright, Auntie. I'm going to eat now," she said having no other choice.
Immediately Liena smiled faintly, "Then I will feed you, Miss. Stay where you are, don't move too much," she replied.
An Na nodded, then ate slowly until the food on the plate in one of Liena's hands ran out.
"So what was it you wanted to ask me, Miss?"
Xiao Ara was silent for a moment, thinking of the right words.
"Auntie, have you ever felt regret?"
"I think every human living in this world must have at least one regret, Miss," Liena replied.
"Is that true? Do you know where that regret comes from, Aunt?" asked Xiao An Na, looking at Liena innocently.
Hearing the little girl's question, Liena couldn't help but smile on her lips, "Some regrets are born from a mistake in the past, weakness, and also loss, Miss. Some regrets can also stem from an action that should have been done or should not have been done."
Xiao An Na looked thoughtful when she heard the middle-aged woman's explanation.
"Only that? Then what if the feeling suddenly appears without cause, Auntie?"
Liena chuckled, "That can't be happening, Miss. Regret will not arise without a cause."
Xiao An Na nodded slowly, trying to digest Aunt Liena's words.
"Do you know how to get rid of that regret, Auntie?" asked Xiao An Na after a moment of silence.
"Regret feeling is a form of sanction for violating norms committed by someone, Miss. The feeling of regret arises because of the stimulus from memories or unpleasant experiences that have been experienced by someone.
"Regret will hurt a person's life if someone continues to lament what has happened in the past. But that feeling can have a positive impact on one's life if one can overcome it, Miss. It all depends on how each person manages hee feelings."
Xiao An Na's brow furrowed faintly, trying to digest Aunt Liena's explanation.
