Chapter 3 - Chapter 03. Aptitude Test

Xiao An Ni immediately withdrew her hand, she looked surprised by what had happened, even though she was just curious.

Everyone else feels the same way. Silence ensued.

Until the sound of loud laughter was heard and broke everyone's focus. It was Xiao Jun, the man walked up to his daughter with a very happy face.

"Hahaha… my daughter is great. Look, at such a young age, her spirit power has awakened. I'm so proud, I'm so proud of you, little girl," Xiao Jun said as he hugged Xiao An Ni.

Everyone looks happy and feels the same way. Cheers filled the place, making Xiao An Na's whereabouts seem invisible. Everyone focused on Xiao An Ni.

Xiao An Na feels happy about her half-sister's achievement. As a sister, she also feels proud.

"Congratulations, Xiao An Ni. I'm happy with this," said Xiao An Na, causing Xiao Jun to immediately let go of his embrace.

"Come on, Dear. Continue your test," Xiao Jun said as he pushed Xiao An Ni towards the next test place. Ignoring Xiao An Na, the little girl only smiled when she was treated like that.

Standing in front of a crystal ball, Xiao An Ni was guided by her father.

"Put your hand on this Crystal ball, honey," Xiao Jun said.

"Okay, Dad," Xiao An Ni replied then slowly raised her hand.

Everyone seemed to be holding their breath, waiting for the little girl's test results, including Xiao An Na.

Just as Xiao An Ni's two hands touched the Crystal Ball, an extremely bright pink light emerged from within her body, at the same time a shadow with the shape of a dragon appeared to fill the Crystal Ball.

"Middle-tier spirit user," shouted an Elder.

Everyone swallowed hard, looking like they couldn't believe what was happening in front of them right now.

How could an eight-year-old little girl possess the talent of a mid-level spirit user? This never happened before.

Even Xiao Jun looked surprised by this. The man froze on the spot, his hands shaking slightly.

"Daddy? Daddy, are you all right?" Xiao An Ni's voice broke the middle-aged man's focus, she held both of her father's trembling hands.

"O-Oh. Yes of course. I'm fine, hahaha. I'm fine, I'm very happy," said Xiao Jun laughing again. He then carried his daughter with a happy face.

"Look, she is my daughter. She is my daughter," he repeated.

"Daddy put me down. I'm embarrassed," Xiao An Ni whispered.

"No. You're with me, don't stay away from me," said Xiao Jun then walked out of the field and returned to his original place with his daughter. Leaving Xiao An Na without saying a word.

"Sister, keep the spirit. I'll see you from here," Xiao An Ni shouted to the girl in white who was still standing on the stage. And it managed to shift everyone's focus.

If Xiao An Ni had such talent at such a young age, then Xiao An Na sure has more talent than her half-sister. Considering the two girls were descendants of the sect master.

Now everyone was silent, all the ridicule that was directed at her was now gone. No one dared to make a sound, everyone was waiting for Xiao An Na's aptitude test results.

"Now, it's your turn, Miss An Na," the examiner said to the little girl.

"Okay," replied An Na with a wide smile on her lips. She became impatient with the results of her aptitude test. In her heart, she hoped that this time she would have more talent than her sister because only then, she could silence the mouths of those who always insulted her.

With the examiner's help, she began her first test. Placed her palm on the spirit stone. And at the same time, a pillar of light soared high.

Everyone wasn't surprised because all ten-year-olds would have experienced the same thing. What they were waiting for were the results of the next test.

Knowing that her spirit power had awakened, Xiao An Na smiled happily. Liena, who witnessed this, smiled too, feeling happy too.

"Please, you shift to here, Miss," said the examiner to Xiao An Na.

The girl just nodded and then approached the Crystal ball that determines one's talent.

"Please place your hands on this Crystal ball, Miss An Na," said the examiner.

Instantly An Na's heart skipped a beat, for some reason she suddenly felt scared. But again, she was trying to strengthen herself. She hopes to have the same talent or more than her sister. Maybe only then, her father would start to notice her and not ignore her anymore.

"What is it, Miss?" asked the examiner when he saw the little girl lost in thought.

A Na's focus was shattered, she immediately shook her head, "It's all right, sir. I'm fine," Xiao An Na replied.

Hearing that, the examiner nodded then asked her to do a second test.

With slightly trembling hands, Xiao An Na held the Crystal ball. At the same time, Xiao An Na felt a sting and it spread throughout her body. A trident mark appeared on her forehead, giving off a very faint glow. It only happened for a few seconds, so no one noticed it, not even Xiao An Na knew about it.

Again, everyone held their breath. Looking forward to the miraculous thing that might happen next.

One second…

Two seconds…

Three seconds…

Nothing happened. There is no visible change in the crystal ball.

'What happened?' thought An Na.

She then tried to do the same thing, but the result was the same. Nothing happened to her and the crystal ball.

Simultaneously, the sound of laughter rang out from the crowd. Various mockery and ridicule again sounded.

"Rubbish, she's rubbish," someone shouted fearlessly.

"No, you're wrong. She's worse than rubbish. Just look at her, her talent doesn't even reach the spirit user title," shouted another.

Hearing that, Xiao An Na cried involuntarily. "Sir, what happened? Why doesn't this crystal ball change? Is this Crystal ball broken?" asked Xiao An Na, looking at the examiner with mixed feelings.
