Damien entered his mansion with a heaviness he couldn’t quite get rid of.
Barbatos was pressuring him to give his answer to an earlier offer, and he was running out of options from stalling. The demon even personally crashed into his office undetected – and that in itself heightened Damien’s wariness of the 2nd Harbinger.
“Welcome back, Lord Damien,” Aisha said as she took off his cloak, folded and hung it over her forearm, and then received his cane as well. She placed them on the rack, locked the doors on their way, and then asked, “How was your day at work? It is very late now.”
Damien didn’t reply to Aisha’s inquiry, and immediately made a beeline towards the stairs. She rushed over to follow him with a worried look in her eyes, the dark shadow that lurked around the corner observing them as well. It seemed like it also knew Damien had something heavy in mind.
“Lord Damien, how about dinner? Have you already eaten? I can warm up your food if you want,” she offered him.
