Vincenzo walked into the Caruso living room in high spirits. His father had decided it was best they discussed at a later date when he saw how hasty his son was acting. He knew it had something to do with Maria and he was genuinely pleased.
He wasn't asked, but he felt the need to encourage his son to do everything in his power to keep Maria by his side. Something he, had been unable to do before. He knew it would be a shame if his son lost a woman like that. It was a loss that would never be healed.
He entered the living room and saw a host of people gathered in it. Zia rushed to him immediately she set her eyes on him.
"Is Maria with you?" She asked panicking.
"No. Isn't she home?" He asked. The faces of everyone present already gave him the answer he needed. Something was up.
