Maria looked out her window to block out the three noisemakers in her room. They kept asking her if she was okay when it was not a question she wanted to answer. Did she understand their worry?
Absolutely yes. She was almost assaulted by a person she had begun to trust so much. However, it wasn't something she needed to dwell in. She wasn't ready to face it yet. She had other things to worry about. She turned around abruptly, and the room instantly became silent.
"Zia, Ursula, could you excuse my brother and me, please? I want to talk to him in private," she requested, her hands glued together and a stone-cold look plastered on her face.
"Sure," they both nodded and stood up to leave. Marco watched them with a pleading look on his face. He understood he was in trouble with the way she sounded.
