Chapter 4 - Exaushted

After a long days work at the hospital even though she had gotten all of the basic stuff Opal was still half asleep on her feet. When she left to go home for the day. She grabbed her stuff from her locker and then walked to her car. As she was walking to her car she saw a group of people. They were huddled up in a circle talking in hushed worried voices. Opal wondered if maybe one of them needed medical attention? She was about to ask if they needed help but as she walked over to them. One of the woman said wait! Stay back don't you come any closer! I'm warning you, ok ok said Opal I was just wondering if you needed help you know like medical attention. No we're fine, we'll okay then. Replied Opal ugh have a nice day. Neither of them replied huh though Opal how weird?! Why were they asking her to stay back oh well she thought beats me and I suppose it's non of my business. Besides I did my part I offered to help and they don't want it. Thought Opal as she got into her car, on her drive home she thought about what to make for dinner tonight? Definitely something easy since she was so tired. Hmmm I'm just going to grab Subway she decided. She went and got her food and the headed home for the night. Once she got home Whiskers greeted her at the door. Then she got her sub and coke and sat down on her couch and turned the news on. (On tv) This just in breaking news! A new sickness is going around! Stay safe protocol says to wear a mask everywhere you go to decrease the risk of getting this virus! We don't know yet where it has started but it's spreading quick and we've learned that it's life threatening. All surrounding school districts have closed for the rest of the week. The symptoms of this virus are sores, runny nose, head aches, cough, swelling lips, and scratchy throat. If you have any of these symptoms head straight to the hospital. Where you will be quarantined and taken care of. Thank you and have a good rest of your night and remember to wear your mask and Stay Safe!
