"Thank you.", I said, seeing a couple maids come into the room to hand some refreshing tea over. They only smiled at us before they vanished from the room. Both Victor and I took a moment to calm our nerves down as we drank this tea, and it was very refreshing. I took another good look at Victor as we did. The age difference between the two of us was quite a stark contrast. I was still but a thirteen year old boy, and the man before me was old enough to have a daughter around the same age as me, yet as we continued to speak, a hint of politeness still remained in his tone. It was also very firm, I didn't see Victor waver his voice at all.
"Klaus did not mention much, only of your arrival. Since we will no longer address each other by title, is it fine if I call you Naoto?", Victor asked me.
"Yes. That would be nice.", I happily smiled as I looked back at Victor. After answering that, I saw Victor shift his eyes downward, only for him to see Tamamo resting in my lap letting her six tails droop down off the side of the chair I was sitting on.
"That...wouldn't happen to be a monster, would it? I have never seen such a creature like this before.", Victor mused as he observed Tamamo in my lap. Yet before I could even answer him, Tamamo opened her eyes, revealing two snake-like pupils and looked back at him.
"Hmph. Like I said to that Bracer dunce from earlier, don't you dare group me with those things. I am a proud familiar.", Tamamo retorted Victor, which caused him to keep his gaze on her.
"So it talks too...", Victor couldn't help but retort the fox.
"I am not an "It", either. I am a girl you know.``, Tamamo retorted again, which even caused me to look at her.
"Haha, Tama can be a bit feisty sometimes, Sir Victor, she means no harm.", I said with a playful grin.
"Well, it appears there is more to the world that I have yet to come across. There are definitely quite a many things that cannot be properly explained.", Victor mused to himself seeing the little fox before him.
"Mmm. Since I plan to stay in Legram for a while, I might as well introduce you to KeA while I am at it. She had already met Laura too.", I said, which drew Victor's interest again. The moment I uttered that, Victor saw a faint flash of light flicker inside of my cloak, only for his gaze to be drawn to a very tiny figure who appeared before me. I extended my palm out, and AI KeA's small figure materialized over it.
"Did you call for me, Master?", AI KeA said as she tilted her head a bit, seeing herself in an unfamiliar room.
"Yes. This is Uncle Victor. He looks familiar to you, right?", I said, changing my gaze toward Victor again, which caused AI KeA to look at Victor. He wasn't expected to see such a small creature appear in my hands. More surprise went his way the moment he saw AI KeA start to flutter about in a swift manner, swerving back and forth around Victor a bit, only to see herself landing on top of Victor's head. He felt a little thud, but the ai didn't have much weight right now.
"You smell just like that blue haired girl!", AI KeA happily said as she rested on top of Victor's head. Apart from his momentary stupor, hearing that caused him to laugh.
"Haha, well that is because Laura is my daughter. You really are full of surprises, Naoto.", Victor mused to himself, seeing another creature he didn't expect to see.
"Well, KeA here is still pretty new to me, I doubt it's been a while since she was even born. I want her to study the townsfolk here. I sadly cannot go into detail much about her existence though.", I said to Victor.
"Nor is it my desire to know why there are such creatures. I can only think it to be an act of the Goddess. As long as this creature means no harm to Legram's people, I do not see any issue that would arise.", Victor answered me, acknowledging my request to allow AI KeA to study the people here in Legram. I did not have any plans to allow her to interact with others beside the Arseid household for now.
"Here that, KeA? You can go have some fun, just don't get into trouble, alright?", I said, looking back at the small ai still sitting on top of Victor's head.
"'Kay!", AI Kea happily responded. Before we could do anything else, AI KeA moved a bit, before her figure completely disappeared from sight, leaving the three of us alone again.
"KeA loves to learn and observe, so thank you for granting that, Sir Victor. Now with that out of the way, why don't we talk about my purpose in coming here?", I said, looking back at Victor with a more serious look in my eyes.
"Of course. No doubt you have something on your mind.", Victor responded as he nodded his head.
"Well, I've come to Legram for two reasons. The second I'll talk about in a bit, but first, do you know much of House Rogner's situation?", I decided to ask.
"House Rogner, is it? I heard the lord there has been keeping to himself as of late, especially after that disaster that struck Roer recently. His mind has been too focused on the reconstruction of the Reinford Group. But apart from that, I hear he has quite an unruly daughter who always seems to go missing. So far to the point where she's been spotted in Liberl and Calvard. And with you asking about it, I can only guess you know the answer to that.``, Victor said as he took another sip of his tea.
"I do. I'll put it bluntly. Angie and I have entered a relationship. I doubt even her father knows of it.", I said with a playful grin.
"Are you now? If I recall, that girl's attitude was one of the worst among the noble houses. She had some rather...peculiar tastes, if I remember correctly.", Victor said, wondering to himself. Hearing that caused me to laugh.
"Haha. You'd be surprised with how much Angie has changed since then, though I do think it is for the better. But even if the two of us entered a relationship, that doesn't really mean anything in terms of how nobles go. Which is why the two of us devised a plan. With me being here in Erebonia now, both Angie and I are eventually going to directly confront House Rogner.", I said with a serious look in my eyes.
"A confrontation...", Victor uttered. "You really aren't suggesting what I think you are suggesting, are you, Naoto? If Lord Rogner comes to learn of this, he is going to be quite furious.", Victor also responded seriously.
"Which is exactly why the two of us decided to inform you. We are planning a house merger, either with House Rogner's consent or without.", I answered with a grin.
"A merger of two houses...That would definitely cause quite a stir among those in high society.", Victor answered, looking right back at me.
