Chapter 170 - Chapter 169: Master Quartz Box

Giliath demands your power stones!

Aside from Erika's excitement though, it appeared she was holding a rather fancy device currently in her hands. This device appeared much more similar to a flip phone. The orbal watch my mother passed down to me was no longer anywhere to be seen. I could only assume Erika used her magic and used the Combat Orbment's circuitry that my mother gave me.

"My deepest apologies, Your Highness, but the engineer that you brought here wouldn't say no for an answer.", Hilda said, scratching her cheek a bit.

"We could come back at a later time should you wish, Brother.", Kloe said after becoming stunned for a moment seeing the three of us like this. Hearing that I smiled.

It wasn't until now that Erika's initial excitement seemed to have died down. Erika couldn't help but blink her eyes seeing the three of us like this.

"...I'm not interrupting anything, am I?", Erika said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Hahaha.", I said, letting out a playful smile seeing Erika come crashing in like that. "Nah. You came in at a good time.", I said, letting Angelica snap out of her previous hug. As she slowly leaned backward, I looked toward her butt, and gave it a soft slap. Feeling that, Angelica's eyes turned wide as I proceeded to get off the bed.

"H-Hey!", Angelica said, revealing a pout. "That was uncalled for.", Angelica continued to retort. I ignored her though, and proceeded to grab a robe nearby to put over my casual wear.

Seeing that happen, interest appeared in Erika's eyes as she continued to speak.

"That matter of the Queen announcing a royal harem really wasn't a joking matter, from what I see now.", Erika said, musing to herself.

"Of course it isn't. Both Ennea and Angie here are already set to become my concubines. I am not sure when my ascension to the throne will take place though. Likely not for the coming years to say the least. Considering that Grandmother is still actively sitting on it.``, I said, welcoming Erika seeing as she was done completing the latest orbment model, which hasn't even been released to the public yet.

From what I could tell, mostly the second generation was available, while the third generation was mostly used in the military. The fourth generation, the Enigma I, wasn't even set to release yet, but they had completed models of it, as well as beginning prototypes for the Enigma II.

I essentially asked the impossible for Professor Schmidt's favor, but he was still able to jump three generations. While the Enigma I model was technically classified as a fifth generation series alongside the Enigma II, I personally still see that as a fourth generation orbment. But that is where its design really took shape. Instead of an opened pocket watch, it slowly developed into the style of modern day phones. And the Enigma series was the start of that. The Enigma II even allowed connection to the orbal waves that the wireless network released, allowing one to initiate calls to others.

Sadly, with this likely being the only model actually created, I had no one to call, since this wasn't even available yet to others. One thing I could try doing though was to see if I could use this guy to connect to an orbal station, which I had one not only here, but Tio and the likes had one back to where they operated in Crossbell setting up the orbal network there.

That would be a test for later though. The key difference I mentioned between the Enigma I and the Enigma II models was one key factor, aside from an additional slot or two.

And that was the introduction of Master Quartz.

Master Quartz alone played a big factor in strengthening characters as a whole later on in the series, and now that I have that function available, it was time to have some fun with it.

Seeing our waking up fun time over as well, Ennea stretched a bit and lazily got out of the bed, still yawning. She was with me on that mission, it seemed she was a bit tired. Still, she dragged Angelica off to the bathroom to get cleaned up, so now it was just Erika, Hilda, Kloe and I.

"It's obvious now that I've seen it in person.", Erika responded. "Do you have any interest in others?", Erika decided to ask me, which caused me to blink my eyes.

'I do have a couple in mind, but they're not presently here...', I thought for a moment. I proceeded to shake my head no. "Not for the moment.", I said, answering Erika.

"That's good then. Just keep far away from my Tita, alright~?", Erika suddenly asked as her eyes turned into two crescent moons. Seeing her do that, she proceeded to place the Enigma II down on my desk as I had previously asked for. Yet as she did that, Kloe and I felt a spark or two streak across the room. We couldn't help but shudder a bit.

"...Point taken.", I answered, scratching my cheek.

"Haha, I am only kidding. But it is true that the model you asked me to create is complete, I just didn't think he would be of mind to actually request me to do something like this.", Erika said, returning to a more serious tone.

"Let's just say it was a favor.", I said, smiling at Erika.

"A favor huh? I can see that guy not wanting to owe any favors.", Erika responded back while nodding her head. She then looked toward my way and continued to ask another question. "It seems that completing this model isn't the only thing you brought me here to do, is it, though? Or did I get that impression wrong?", Erika asked as interest appeared in her eyes again.

"No, you got that right. I have another thing for you. it's in regards to this pile over here.", I said, only to turn sideways a bit. Several reward boxes of different types now piled up further inside our room near the corner. These were the several reward boxes given to me through my gamer system from the past several years completing quest after quest. Seeing that other people could see these boxes, I decided to test something out.

"Did you guys celebrate a birthday or something? These are quite a lot of gifts, it's strange none of them have any ribbons though.", Erika said, interested as she looked at the giant reward box pile.

"Something like that.", I said, obviously not wanting to reveal where these boxes came from since it came from my system.

Aside from the party system I could invite people into and the matter of Ouroboros seeing that I had a similar ability to "create dungeon spaces", I have not revealed my gamer system to anyone but Roselia, since he had a good look at all of my memories back then. I wanted to keep it that way for now.

But the thing I wanted to test was people's luck.

And Erika was the first on that list, considering that she was brought here on the behalf of Professor Schmidt to build the Enigma II.

Plus, it makes sense for her to roll the first master quartz box, right? I had

Thinking that, I reached into the large pile of reward boxes, only to grab two of my master quartz boxes. As a result of completing Ace's quest and that Emergency Mission, it bumped my total master quartz boxes from five to ten. I already had plans to open some other of my reward boxes as well with the others, but with Erika here now, I brought out two boxes.

One was going to be a thank you gift to Erika for having such flexibility in arriving at the castle to upgrade my Combat Orbment. The other one hopefully I can personally use, but I will likely open the rest of the master quartz boxes with the others later.

"Take one.", I said, presenting one of the reward boxes to Erika. "We'll open them together.", I continued to say.

"Sure?", Erika asked, still confused on the matter, but happily took one of the boxes that I grabbed from the pile.

Once the two of us placed our hands on these two boxes, we were distracted by a glow of light.

The boxes no longer stood there in our palms. Erika's eyes turned wide in shock the moment a new master quartz appeared in her hand, as did mine.

"Oh dear Aidios, what the hell did you just have me do, Your Highness?"," Erika responded, still shocked seeing a master quartz now in her hand. She felt some strength leave her legs as gave out a bit, but on my end as I saw a new master quartz in my hand, I couldn't help but grin seeing Erika react like this.

"As the saying goes, Erika, the grind never stops.", I said, letting out a chuckle as I did.
