Some time later.

With my attack on the War God, the battle between our corps came to a swift end, especially after receiving a notice that Zephyr's side quickly routed Nidhoggr with their measly attempt to attack the Capital.

Seeing four Jaeger corps clash with each other was really a sight to behold. Lots of orbal guns lit up the darkness of the night that night. Many sounds of metal clashing pierced everyone's ears. Dead bodies plopped down one after another, with a heavy scent of blood wafting around. It was strong enough to where monsters would question twice in making an appearance there.

We were able to find out who orchestrated this clash as well. Turns out the royalty of North Ambria was still alive and kicking, Prince Balmund. It was rumored he fled the country instead of assisting his people during the Salt Pale tragedy, but he appeared fine and dandy. Enough to where he was able to scrape up enough mira to hire Nidhoggr and in turn, the Red Constellation, to try and take North Ambria back for his selfish desires.

Thanks to the Northern Jaegers working with us from Zephyr, we were able to keep the Red Constellation at bay while subsequently capturing the one who led the attack, who was brazen enough to be beside Nidhoggr when they launched a direct attack on the Capital. The Jaeger King's strength proved no limit, and with his effort his squads were able to wipe out Nidhoggr, and captured Prince Balmund.

As for the Red Constellation, they braced for the attack that I had launched at them, from the divergent weapon I received from the Grandmaster. The War God directly collided with it. Thanks to his weapon being a tier below divergent weapons, he still wielded enough power to cut the mana arrow that I had created in half. That didn't come without any damage though. The split arrow streaked through the forest, freezing everything in its path. Most of it became a frozen wasteland, at the cost of many Jaegers from the Red Constellation. Even Shirley was left wide-eyed seeing the destruction one arrow could do. Many of their Jaegers reported the icy flames still burned them from the inside out.

As a result, our side had won the bet with Rogan, which only earned more hatred from him. From what I could see in his eyes, he wanted to show off his skills, likely to promote higher in the Northern Jaegers, which I could care less on. Well, it left with the other few members happy seeing as they would be fed for a good while.

Seeing the destruction of the forest and the freezing deaths of her fellow Jaegers, Shirley became even more enthralled to have a battle with me. Sadly that did not come to pass, as the War God seemed satisfied to what I had delivered onto him. He had also quickly gotten notice that Nidhoggr failed on their side. Right then and there, the War God tore up the contract they had with Nidhoggr.

The War God apparently seemed satisfied with what I had shown him, and that my growth had been going well. He called off the duel I had with Shirley, only to say that it will be held at a later date. This left Shirley disappointed, but seeing as they were on the losing side now, she just listened to her father. Like that, the Red Constellation retreated along with most of Nidhoggr being routed, the fight on North Ambria's territory resulted in a win for the Northern Jaegers and Zephyr.

The War God calling off the duel between Shirley and I, was actually not the most surprising thing that happened that night.

As a result of tightening our defenses and knowing that Colonel Valestein would perish, there was no one to squeeze by this time. The moment the War God tore up his contract, he disregarded Colonel Valestein's life. No child impersonated a Jaeger to kill him, either. That night, Colonel Valestein lived.

Along with Guy Bannings, Colonel Valestein was another person I had considered saving from death. However, unlike the previous times, the actions I took to ensure he did not perish did not require the use of that forbidden spell. That spell was currently saved for Guy Bannings for when he had his duel with Arios.

With Colonel Valestein still alive, his daughter, Sara Valestein, did not go through that pain and suffering of losing her father. That feeling of anguish didn't go unnoticed, however. In the games, it was just the Northern Jaegers against Nidhoggr. But here, it was Zephyr and the Northern Jaegers against Nidhoggr and the Red Constellation.

The size of this battle, to say the least, was far grandiose compared to that. In that sense alone, this battle was a big eye-opener for Sara. To add fire to that, the Northern Jaegers caught wind that it was actually their own Parliament who requested to kill one of their own heroes, Colonel Valestein.

Wanting to kill one of their own heroes spurred Colonel Valestein to retire from the Northern Jaegers. In turn, along with the bloodshed seen that battle, he urged his daughter, Sara Valestein, to reconsider her current position in the corp as well. So while not feeling the the anguish, in turn, she garnered uneasiness.

After retiring from the Northern Jaegers, Colonel Valestein, or Ex-Colonel at this point, wandered back to a certain village in the countryside, one he was ever so familiar with, who housed a fellow hero of the Northern Jaegers. The Winslet Family. He purchased a house next to theirs, and settled down, retiring from his job as a Jaeger. In response to that, Captain Clark rose in the ranks, becoming the new Commander while Rogan only got promoted to a Vice-Commander. I was informed that Rogan wasn't the only Vice-Commander, but the other Vice-Commander did not make an appearance during that battle.

Yet little did I know at the time, this other Vice-Commander would become intertwined with me at a later time...

In terms of North Ambria itself, after the battle, we had a bit of fun with the Northern Jaegers, and they treated us Zephyr members to their local delicacies. Enjoying our fills, we parted ways, and Zephyr departed from the country, going about their daily business. This meant that I parted ways with Fie again. It was fun to spend more time with her and if we get a chance to do another mission.

As for me though, Sara took me, Emma and Claire back to where her father had settled down, offering an invitation into their new home. Since Colonel Valestein still lived, this meant in turn, this would be Sara's home.

It was now a week later while the three of us stood in front of Sara's house. A smile brought to my face seeing Sara invite us.

"Once again, it's a pleasure for bringing us to your home, Sara. I hope we aren't intruding.", I said to Sara, who could be seen at her doorstep.

"Oh please, enough with that crap already. You guys are our guests tonight. Feel free to make yourself at home. Papa went with a more comfy home so I do apologize if it isn't all that big.", Sara said in response.

"Thank you for having us.", Emma also said with a nod.

"Do pardon the intrusion.", Claire also said, feeling a certain warmth, likely coming from a lit fireplace further in the back.

"Oh and just so you guys are aware, Papa invited more guests. They'll be arriving shortly.", Sara continued to say.

"So we won't be the only ones tonight eh?", I said with interest. Hearing the three of us, we heard a much older voice speak out to us from further inside as an aged man could be seen sitting at a table.

"Hoho, it looks like you guys were able to make it here. I hope our village wasn't that hard to find.", Mr. Valestein said, seeing our arrival.

"The rolling hills are quite pretty. It was easy to find once we were able to spot the farmland.", Emma responded revealing a smile.

"Yeah. This village gives quite a feeling of relaxation. It's a shame we'll only be here tonight.", Claire said, also admiring the scenery around us.

After we said that, Sara brought us inside, only to gather around the table next to Mr. Valestein. However, we were immediately greeted with a blonde haired girl who seemed to be no younger than Emma, sitting next to him, who was calmly observing us.

"Oh I hope you guys don't mind that I brought one of the relatives of my friend over here for tonight's dinner either.", Mr. Valestein said, only to glance down at the blonde haired girl. "Come on, why don't you introduce yourself to our guests?", He continued to say.

"'Sup.', The girl simply responded to us. Seeing this simple response, Mr. Valestein could only shake his head a bit.

"She's always like this. I hope you guys don't mind.", He said, which caused me to laugh.

"Haha, of course not. You're treating us to a meal so you'll have to put up with us too. Sara said you also invited some others?", I decided to ask.

"Oh yes. They're colleagues of mine. While we are on different paths, they've decided to come over after hearing after I retired from being a Jaeger. It is also to give some insight to a little indecisive daughter of mine to see what she should do next.", Mr. Valestein said.

"Huh. I thought you said you wanted to become a Bracer already, Sara.", The blonde haired girl retorted beside him.

"I-I just haven't decided, okay? I knew that mission was tough but, I don't think I can continue being a Jaeger anymore either.", Sara retorted back at the young girl.

"Which is why you'll need to decide that soon, Sara. You can't stay here forever you know.",, Mr. Valestein said. "You may have a lot of blood on your hands, but with skill like yours, if you decide to become a Bracer, they'll definitely take you in. But with the guests I have coming in tonight, you may find another path better for you.", Mr. Valestein said. "But ultimately, the choice is up to you.", he continued to say.

Hearing that, Sara nodded her head.

In the meantime, the three of us made ourselves at home, and the girl beside the retired Jaeger slowly opened up to us. Turns out she was the relative of another deceased hero of the Northern Jaegers, and went by the name Lavian Winslet. She appeared to be around Emma's age, so I hope the two will get along, as well as with the rest of us.

It didn't take long before we heard another ring at the doorstep before we heard an aged man speak from outside the door.

"I do hope we aren't too late tonight, Colonel.", A firm voice said, which caused me to blink for a moment. It took a second, but I was able to recognize that voice.

"Hoho, so you guys are here at last. And that's Ex-Colonel now. Beatrix should have told you that, right?", Mr. Valestein said, only for us to earn a chuckle from what seemed to be the voice of an aged woman.

"Haha, that's right. You need to stop being a dunderhead, Major.", A woman's voice said next to the first voice behind the door.

"It really is still hard to believe you retired just like that without giving such notice. Still I thank you for inviting us tonight.", A third voice said, which caused my eyes to stare at the door. I could recognize the first two voices, but that third voice was one I haven't heard of in a while, but was all too familiar with it. After those voices spoke, we saw the door open, only to reveal three figures.

My eyes immediately turned wide-eyed a bit seeing a military dressed soldier with a sword at his waist, sporting brown hair.

"Mueller? Is that you?", I uttered, which drew everyone's attention to both of us, disregarding the other two figures beside the third figure. The moment I uttered that, Mueller quickly shifted his eyes, only to spot a violet haired boy with golden eyes sitting at a table, looking at him.

"Your Highness?", Mueller retorted, not expecting to see me here in Sara's house.
