Outside the building, Edmund and Vincent dismounted their horses. The whole place was eerily quiet. "It doesn't look like anyone has been here." Edmund thought out loud.
"Were you expecting to see a burning fire in the middle of the house as an indication that someone was here or should I say is here? Or Perhaps a banner saying 'kidnap zone, stay off,'"
After a few seconds, Edmund said, "Your humour isn't exactly appreciated right now."
"You are not as smart as I thought you to be, Lord Edmund."
"Let's check around the building, there should be something. Maybe a horse because I know they didn't walk down to this place." Edmund suggested, already making his way to the back of the house.
"Great idea," Vincent murmured and then followed suit.
