Liam laughed and pinched her thighs. Ever since his epiphany, he had to get her attention somehow, to have those blue eyes fixed on him and only him. And things had seemed fine until that evening.
"So... Ezra Sawyers huh?" He teased and could've sworn she blushed.
No. No. No. His heart thumped in denial. She didn't like the bloke. She was just fixated with him because he wasn't crumbling to her charms.
"Just ignore Lina. Will you? She has no idea what she's saying."
This was bad. The alarms in his head rang. She wouldn't even talk about him. A feeling akin to fury crashed into his bones. Cleo was his! He had waited years for her. Years for his Cleo to grow. No bloke would take her away from him.
Snaking his arms around her waist, he heaved her into the pool. They both splashed in and she yelped in surprise.
