Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

He undressed to his underwear and sauntered up the stairs to his part of the house which in the center lay a blue king-sized bed. As soon as his door creaked open, all the maturity in him dissipated and he went flying to land on the fluffy foam. Oh, how he missed this feeling. With no one to give him orders or predate his life, he let his immature demon take the wheel.

Through the lonely stacks of literature and books, he scuffled, while nibbling on the snack he had in his palm, a pack of waffles. He turned and sprang, from the bed to the sofa and finally on the ground while he dozed off after turning the old family house to a Merry go round

He woke up in a heap of toys and waffle crumbs lodged in his hair. For a long time, he had a relaxing and prolonged nap void of disturbances. He went down to the living room to find out that his assistant had brought in his luggage and ordered some Chinese food for him.

He wondered how much he could achieve if not for the apt guidance and support he garnered from his best friend and assistant, Matt Brooks. He had met the life genie at a workshop his father had cajoled him to attend in Dubai and he has been a real partner for him ever since they first shook hands.

He quickly tidied up the mess he had created everywhere and opted for a quick shower. With only a towel tied loosely at his waist. He dug voraciously into the food Matt had bought. It was delicious and tantalizing to him, but deep in his mind, Braxton knew that he wasn't satisfied one bit and he had to find a meal that would quench his craving and at the same time, satisfy his hunger. So he decided to take a real tour, one where if need be, he would make a few foods stops.

He stuck his key in the BMW, looking to draw the barest amount of attention. Putting on some Blake to set the mode, he zoomed off taking the shortest route to a fancy restaurant he and his parents had eaten some Sunday dinners. He headed there first. The transparent doors and windows were designed to make the interior more alluring and the classical music tuned off the piano kept you calm and relaxed as the tasty food enriched your famished soul. Having on a black tuxedo and shades he had successfully concealed his identity and mingled with the rich crowd that filled the food house.

He ordered his meal and settled down to dealt fairly with the meat steak and ham sauce that lay in front of him. He was lucky to have come just in time when they were serving ham sauce, a special on their menu. His throat was cleared with a glass of a 1965 antique wine. He was filled to the brim and he couldn't be less happy, being that his nourishment life, due to his work schedule, was full of coffee and waffles and good food was a huge change.

Paying his bills, he continued his tour, heading for the museum down the road from the eatery.

Another thing he loved about his hometown was its love and flair for art. From music to paintings, NYC had you covered. He loved visiting the museum as a kid mostly about its possession of the kind of peace he wanted and its serenity and quiet helped him to think amidst the chaos he lived in. Now more than ever, he needed that peace that's why he was bent on visiting the museum, above everything.

He walked through the roll of artifacts and molded accolades, entirely alone in that hallway. He knew it was unusual to be in such a lonely place but he didn't take heed until a figure crept up behind and smacked his head with the back of her palm causing his shades to fall off.

He quickly turned ready to mercilessly deal with his attacker only to find Coraline, one of their elementary schoolmates, standing and staring while waiting for him to do his worst. His hand massaged his neck to relieve the pain her hand has left hanging.

" How did you know it was me?" He questioned pulling her to one shady sculpture to ensure his cover was not yet blown.

" Your face is all the news, rich handsome boss, who the hell doesn't know you? You thought you could just sneak in and out as you wish, huh?" Coraline said snatching her hands from his.
