Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. The Fatal Flaw.

Ugh!!!

My head hurts more than words could tell.

I stare at the floor as I laid down without saying a word. What was supposed to be a peaceful day and happiest day of my life turned into a nightmare starting from a sudden disturbance.

Eji, that traitorous bastard must have sold me out. Raising my head and getting up on my feet, I find my ship in an unstable condition with most things upside down and in utter chaos. It wouldn't have been like this if I could shake them off easily, but wherever I went, or teleported to, they pop up the next second hot on my tail and when they finally caught up to me, they had my ship surrounded with tons of Patrol crafts.

"...ting…" An irritating sound echoed through the empty space hurting my ears. "You're surrounded, surrender now or face the consequences."

It's those words that make me more eager to escape, I press the loudspeaker button and reply to their offer. "Believe me, I want to surrender but I've heard that word a million times that I find it less convincing now that you can actually hurt me." If only I didn't say the last words then maybe I wouldn't be in this situation.

"If you refuse to surrender now, we'll have no choice but to bring you down the hard way, you'll also be charged with Illegal Galaxy crossing through dimensions, planets…"

"Enough, I know the details, it's my job by the way. I'm not denying it." I replied. For a few seconds, they remained quiet, unsure of what to say next while I waited for them. I thought they were going to act like they always did and I would escape like always but then suddenly, they opened fire.

Tiny, slim, light beams, extended towards my ship within milliseconds. They seemed to have improved a whole lot compared to the last time we met.

The system began singing a repetitive song of 'Alert' and I knew I was screwed. Big time. As I made my way towards the exit of the control room, there was a great turbulence that caused me to lose balance and fall flat on my face. That's how I hit my head.

As my blurred vision began to stabilize, I found the control room in a worse state than I remembered it to be. With a series of warnings, there was no second to spare as my enemies were doing a diligent job in shooting my spaceship.

Making my way towards the exit, a robotic voice from the control system says, "Set for self-destruction in ten minutes."

I turn back and stare at the timer, refusing to believe I have that little time left. "You've got to be kidding me." I cry. This won't do.

I raise my left hand and check my Nanowatch around my wrist, selecting emergency escape wear, brushing it into the open space with my right hand where the holographic image of the clothing froze, glitching as it waited for its wearer. As I passed through the image, it became one with my body and slowly began to form. Lucky me, I already made a back up plan for such a situation.

Arriving at my destination, I find my escape pod ready for launch, the preparation for my emergency exit were ready as well, I've finally been able to temper with Earth's satellite so getting in shouldn't be a problem.

'Ready For Launch.' The server says. And so, the moment the exit opens, I'm shot through space, past the space crafts of the Patrol officers in my escape pod. It takes them time to realize what just happened as I wave them goodbye from inside.

"3, 2....boom!!!"

Boom! Goes my space ship as it explodes the second they start to chase after me, knocking down a few ships.

I won't be seeing most of them in the future. Thankfully they won't be getting their hands on this baby anytime soon. I take out a silver container from behind me. If I was caught and lost this, all my hard work would have gone to waste. Holding the container, I twist it in opposite directions and check the inside.

They're in there, that's good.

Closing it back, I wait for a few seconds and then, the portal appears not too far from me, I'm almost there. Happily, I eagerly wait to reach the portal and just as I celebrate my success, I feel my pod shake again. The right wing has just been shot down and it's losing attitude. This is beyond frustrating, to think they're the first to make me so frustrated. I had to take control and increase the speed. However, a spacecraft appears out of the blue right in front of me and shoots right at me. I'm able to dodge it and head straight for my escape but it's not enough to avoid the crack on the glass shield.

I find myself at the Milky way, and head straight to earth with the little time I have left. Due to the impact from the damaged wing, I find myself crashing rather than flying. The glass starts to crack the further we approach and the heat starts to enter, becoming fire and expanding the crack.

Woah!!!

The fire blazes before my face and I luckily avoid the result by covering my face, when I realized I just lost something. No.

The container I was holding so tightly on my left hand had just fallen and there's no way I could turn back to get it seeing that the pod is beyond control. I brace myself for the worst as I zoom across countries and oceans, finally I had begun to land and it was at no other place than a sandy desert. The glass had also been destroyed. This is my chance.

Holding on to the two sides, I waited patiently before jumping out, luckily my suit would minimize the damage to as low as possible but then I crashed on the sand like a discarded piece of junk, and came rolling.

Ugh!!!

This hurts more than when I feel in the ship. My eyes slowly open to a sandy and sunny view right before my eyes. I spot a Scorpion walking towards my hand, and when I move my hand to shoo it away, it stings me, how lucky I must be to have this suit on.

While my body hurts like crap, it'll be better sitting than lying helplessly in the desert like this. I try to wiggle my fingers which we're hardly moving, it takes a while but then they start working and finally I'm able to gather myself together and sit on the sand. The view before me is beyond hopeless as not a single soul has been seen since I've sat here at the top of a mountain of sand. Well this is worse than I thought. My ship is damaged as well, I've lost my only chance of finding my way home I guess.

"You must live for us…" I heard a woman's voice whisper in my ear, it felt like she was right next to me.

With this I stand up abortively. I can't let things end up like this. Thus, I begin my journey to find my device.

100 years Later.

It's hopeless, hopeless I tell you. I've been wandering the earth for a hundred years, leaving the desert and returning back but I still can't find it no matter where I look. "Star." I hear my name being called out from behind. For my return to the desert I found myself a crew to journey with, we've been stuck in this desert for seven years already.

      "Yeah." I answer.

"Come here for a second, I think we've found something." My body jumps with excitement as I hear my pal, Reynolds words and find my way behind our range Rover when suddenly, I feel a tingling sensation, no it's more than that, and it's coming from the West.

'Hmm, maybe.'

I close my eyes and try to understand what it is I'm sensing when suddenly I find it. But, it seems like things have taken a turn. How interesting.
