Dermot's pov
"No,"
"But…" I started to argue,
"Dammit! I said no!" Carter said.
I sighed, we have been at it since he got back from work. I spent the whole day cleaning and arranging the house.
I needed the house to be in order while I got my head together. Of course, I didn't say anything incriminating while I was in the sitting room.
Now, after making his favorite meal, I was trying to convince Carter to let me go to this dinner.
"Listen to me, I have to go." I whine.
"Why?" he asked, a frown marring his beautiful face.
"I need him to trust me, something is wrong here and I would be a fool to not admit that." I explained to him.
If I can find a connection that, Devlin, Trey and my assistant are working together then we can change the rules of the game. It's very simple and I seem to be wasting time, lounging around waiting for some kind of sign.
