Carter's pov
The words slipped out before he had any chance of stopping them, he didn't mean to say it but come on, it was right there.
He wanted her to stop avoiding him and with the way tonight's conversation went, it was safe to assume that they were no longer avoiding each other. He would admit that seeing her tiptoe down the stairs because she didn't want to be caught made him feel bad about kissing her for the first time since it happened.
He intended to ignore her but she looked so cute doing that and he couldn't resist, she was right to avoid him. It has been awkward between them lately ever since that kiss but he never for once imagined that the reason she was avoiding him was that she felt embarrassed about her reaction.
All Carter could hear was that the kiss wasn't a mistake and she was only embarrassed because of her reaction to it, it made him happy and eager to please her more. Maybe this time, she won't run away from me.
