Chapter 36 - Deal

Dante and Salvatore stood in attention, hands at their backs and heads facing the floor. The two looked like soldiers who were about to get scolded by a senior.

Luca sat sternly on his reclining chair inside his study.

"Salvatore," he hollered.

"Yes, Lord Jaguar!" Salvatore responded formally.

"Tell me, what's the core value of our organization?"

"Loyalty, Sir!"

Luca nodded his head slowly. "Any impairment to it is punishable by death. Am I right?"

"Yes, my lord!" Salvatore responded.

"Dante," Luca called the other one next.

"Yes, Lord Jaguar!" Dante answered formally as well.

"Tell me what you did wrong."

Dante hesitated while looking at Luca, but he knew he had no choice.

"I brought Miss Ervings to a club and let her have fun because she was bored and lonely."

Luca's eyebrow rose alone at his answer, so Dante cleared his throat and rephrased his answer.

"I brought Miss Ervings to a club without your permission, my lord."
