What could be so bad that Bryan was bent on keeping away from me?
'Mum, please, just tell me. I can't hold the suspense anymore. It's killing me.' I said between sobs.
'Bryan?' Mum looked at him, as though asking his permission.
But Bryan did not look at her, he kept his gaze on me and I saw his dull eyes again. He had not gotten enough sleep, like the last time I saw him.
Just then, a doctor walked in.
'Hi, Kassandra. How are you doing today?' He asked.
'Not good. Where is my baby?' I hated that Bryan and my mum did not tell me anything about it before the doctor walked in.
'Your mother didn't tell you?' He frowned at mum.
'I didn't want her to worry.' Bryan confessed.
'No. You're making her worry even more by not telling her.' The doctor walked to my side.
'Then tell me, where is she?' I stared at the doctor, waiting to hear him speak.
'She's in the operating room.' He said and smiled.
