It was not easy getting Alicia to talk to me about Eric. She told me she could not do the regular thing mothers did. She said she could not endure such toxicity for her child, so she was filing for a divorce.
Alicia never appeared to me as someone who found divorce as an option. She looked like someone who fought for what she really wanted, and it turned out she really wanted her son and Eric was merely a figure to bring her son to life.
