"Nothing. I'm just wondering if you've been this way because I talked about Dahlia earlier."
"I didn't tell you that, Ricky." Elio turned to bark at him.
"You don't have to. Ever heard that action speaks louder than words?" Ricky threw at him.
"Well, as you said earlier, I think it's just one of those days. It's nothing about her." Elio rolled his eyes. He got the pancakes out of the microwave once it rang off.
"You can't even say her name." Ricky laughed again.
"I can." Elio defended.
"Then, fucking say it." Ricky challenged him.
"And what would either of us achieve if I do?" He hopped on the slab and placed his plate of pancakes in the space between him and Ricky.
"Not me, but you'd be able to boast that you don't have feelings for her like I have tried to strongly believe you do."
"I am not doing that." He snatched his plate of pancakes from in between them as soon as he saw Ricky's hand dip into it.
