"Did something traumatic happen to your brother before he had the accident?" Doctor Daskalov asked.
Oh, so this was the type of question the doctor had meant? They would be easy to answer, Matteo thought. He knew that the doctor was asking all the questions because he thought that his brother really had amnesia.
"No, doctor," Matteo answered.
"What about being maltreated by whoever had brutalized him?" Doctor Daskalov asked again.
"None that I know of," Matteo said and he shrugged.
"What about on your part? Did you do something harsh towards him?" The doctor asked again.
"Hell, no," Matteo answered, angry that the doctor had even thought about such a thing.
