Chapter 7 - The Appearance Of Savior

While people begin to flee in fear, begging for help, the zombies continue their slaughter efficiently, acting like wolves chasing after lambs.

Watching such a scene, every person was bound to be terrified. Sylas was left with no exception. He thought the zombies' movies back on Earth were already frightening, but the reality that unfolded before his eyes was on another level!

In a couple of minutes, the street was falling into a state of chaos.

Sylas remained fixed at his spots throughout the period, observing as many of his neighbors got killed.

Human's capability of adapting was indeed monstrous. At first, Sylas found that sort of scene was disturbing. However, a few minutes had passed, and he was no longer disgusted with the sight of blood.

Suddenly, he noticed the first girl that was bitten now standing up after collapsing for five minutes. But, her behaviour looks spooky as she staggers slowly chasing after the noises.

"Sh*t! Don't tell the zombie here also had an infectious bite as in the movies back on Earth? Just, what exactly is going on??"

"Huh? What happens outside, Sylas? Are the monsters still there?" Sylas's mother inquired in worry.

"Not only do they still there. They even transformed the townspeople into one of their kinds!" Is what he wanted to say when a ball of light all of a sudden descended from the sky.

As though God's arrival, the vicinity immediately plugged with divine forces when the ball touched the ground.

The nearby zombies simultaneously let out a shriek of agony as if facing its nemesis.

"The justice shall prevail. And I, Sebastian from the Church Of Order and Justice, will punish those beings who dare to commit an atrocity against the Goddess' devotee!"

"Those who are willing to fight against these filthy creatures, please stand behind me. Shall we unite, all injustice will forfeit."

A young pastor wearing an elegant robe suddenly emerged. His pale face appears to be solemn and fearless.

Pastor Sebastian's loud chant echoed in the surrounding areas. The initially in disorder crowd briskly moved to Sebastian's behind, seeking protection and assurance.

Noises of knights' heavy footsteps and chainmail clashing likewise came. They were seen marching forward to the zombies' horde in complete equipment. Instantly, the crowd gained confidence and morale to combat.

"My brother was killed by that creature! I'll be a pig if I don't avenge my brother's death!"

"My poor Licia was turned into one of them. She's virtue and well-behaved. Why was she killed? She doesn't deserve any of this! I'll kill them!" A middle-aged man was wailing loudly. His eyes were rimmed red as he stared at a beautiful girl opposite of him that looked no less than a controlled doll.

Sylas almost lulled to follow the pastor's guide but soon firmly decided to just stay at the house. Mainly, it was because Sylas still felt skeptical about the whole situation. Although the pastor's arrival had changed the fight tide, Sylas thought it was still unsafe to go outside.

"Fret not, our Goddess would definitely lend her hands to help us." Sebastian gracefully moved forward and began drawing a cross with his coated hands. "May the Goddess bless us. The justice shall prevail!"

The crowd grew excited and chanted in chorus, "The justice shall prevail!"

Sebastian fished something out of his pocket and threw it over the zombie's location. Afterward, he mumbled something in a word Sylas couldn't fathom "Yela."

The object Pastor Sebastian threw earlier immediately unleashed a blinding ray, causing the whole street to be shrouded in white holy light.

"Is this the so-called divine power?" Sylas muttered in marvel while trying to catch a glimpse of such splendor. However, not only does he fail, he even gets his eyes steamed in the process.

He never anticipated catching a glimpse of the effect brought by divine power would be similar to seeing the sun.

Fortunately, it was only momentary blindness, and his eyes returned to normal after a few seconds passed.

Upon regaining his sight, Sylas scanned the peripheral and discovered the first two faceless zombies were missing. What was left on their spots was a pile of ashes.

"Holy sh*t! Did they just get incinerated?" Sylas gaped in disbelief. The creatures that could effortlessly sweep an entire mob of humans just perished like that?

Like him, the surrounding people were also astonished by the sudden transition of the event. Just a moment ago, they were almost mercilessly massacred by two horrifying creatures. However, those two unstoppable monsters were smoothly obliterated as though Sebastian was merely cleaning off dust.

That's what he also thought until his gaze pivoted to Pastor Benjamin's direction. He found the latter was breathing hard and sweating profusely.

'Right, even for a Pastor, pulling such a feat must take a heavy toll on his body.' Sylas thought to himself and finally loosened his grip on a wooden club. He was ready to swing his club and bash some zombies' heads lest they invade his house. Turns out the problem had been solved even before he jumped to action.

The remaining humans that had already transformed into zombies didn't immediately turn into ashes and were directly collapsed instead.

"Licia!"

"Abel!"

The people who originally hid behind Pastor Sebastian instantly rushed over to the opposite side of the street, hugging their family members while crying.

"Phew... It's finally over." Sylas patted his chest in relief and was about to inform his mother about it when he heard the door creaked open.
