The pattering sound of the torrential rain was still echoing in that empty hall as Samael approached the nearby window, staring outside through the window. The cold and wet winds were hitting his face again and again.
Aylin was about to leave the hall when she stopped in the middle of her way once again. Tilting her head in Samael's direction, she asked abruptly, startling him, "D- did you kill my brother that day? Tell me the truth."
Samael gave her a sidelong glance of utter disbelief but he didn't answer instantly. The silence loomed between them like a heavy mist. Seeing his grave and serious expression, Aylin breathed in a shallow and little gasp, assuming the answer. But, breaking the silence, Samael spoke calmly, "Never… I will never commit such a shallow and cheap crime as assaulting my enemy secretly. What makes you think that I killed the Prince of Arcelia?"
