Chapter 19 - Heart of a Mechine part 3

As Alex entered the workshop, the helpers and spiders immediately turned their attention towards him. It was clear that he had stumbled upon something important, and these mechanical creatures were not going to let him pass easily.

Alex took a moment to assess the situation. The workshop was filled with various mechanical parts and gadgets, indicating the presence of advanced technology created by the mechoids. He knew he had to be careful, as the enemies before him were powerfull.

Alex was swift and readied his weapons. As the helpers stirred to life, all but one of them grabbed war hammers. Upon closer inspection, the one without a weapon had runes and magic circles running down his arms.

Recalling what Henry had told him before about these mechanical statues, he immediately knew he needed to deal with it before it could do any real damage.

Alex sprinted as fast as he could and impaled the helper with his sword this time he didnt want to take any chances and decided to fill it with slime like he did before. The runes on the helper's arms glowed a fierce orange color, and fire spewed from its hands.

Alex knew that as soon as he pulled the sword from the helper, the slime would catch fire. So, he quickly removed the sword and kicked the helper, knocking down another one.

Then Alex sprinted for the door,

barely managing to close it before he heard a boom on the other side. After a few seconds, he cautiously opened the door again. The workshop was in even more disarray than before, with smoke still partially lingering in the air. From what Alex could tell, the explosion had taken out two other helpers. The other helper was recovering from the blast and the spiders appeared to l be stunned.

Alex knew he needed a better way to deal with these helpers. His first experiment was to try targeting their joints.

Alex saw the helper swing just in time he barely doged the swing but ended up tumbling. Now on the floor, Alex crawled to retrieve a fallen helper's war hammer. The hammer was heavy but not too heavy for alex to use.

Alex cast a fireball from his ring. The fireball landed, but it only made the metal man miss a step, not quite the tumble Alex had hoped for. With the helper reading his hammer at him, Alex knew he couldn't afford to take a blow from the war hammer. Even if he blocked it, he needed to dodge it.

Alex waited until the helper bagin his strike. He dodged as soon as the mechanical warrior started to swing. Alex decided to go for the legs, just like he had done previously. Holding the hammer at his waist, he swung for the shins of the helper. However, the helper almost seemed to anticipate Alex's attempts to off-balance him and held firm. With a clang, Alex hit the helper's legs, the sound echoing in the messy workshop.

The helper turned to face Alex, its hammer raised menacingly above his head, ready for a crushing blow. With desperation fueling his actions, Alex leaped onto the metal man, attempting to tackle it. He managed to break free just in time before the helper's grasp could tighten around him. Now standing above the metal man, he immediately swung the hammer, landing a powerful strike on the helper's shoulder, denting the metal and damaging its internal mechanisms.

Eager to deliver another hit, Alex prepared to strike again, but the damaged helper got up, showing resilience. Realizing the extent of the damage it had sustained, the helper tried to swing the hammer at Alex once more, but its movements were sluggish and slow. This time, Alex effortlessly dodged the attack and delivered a swift blow to the metal man's knee. With a resounding thump, the helper fell to the ground, unable to rise.

Satisfied with his work, Alex decided to investigate the spiders, which curiously hadn't attacked him during the fight. He found them standing exactly where he had first seen them, but it seemed they were completely oblivious to his presence, even when he stood right in front of them. The intense light from the explosion must have somehow affected their senses.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Alex took a moment to explore the workshop further. He carefully opened every drawer and cabinet, discovering what appeared to be ancient directions and instructions on how to build something, although Alex couldn't decipher their purpose. He thought that Henry, with his knowledge of the past, might know what to make of these enigmatic findings.

As he searched the room, his eyes fell upon a door with a sign atop, entirely inscribed in runic symbols. Though he couldn't fully understand the writing, one rune stood out clearly to him – "store"
