Alex walked into the ruin and instantly found himself in a different room than before. There are a lot of similarly made rooms in ruins. This ruin was no different.
The map was placed on a different wall and the layout of the ruin was different. This time the boss is a slime horde.
In ruins, there are three types of bosses: individual bosses, boss groups, and hordes. Individual bosses are exceptionally powerful enemies, while boss groups consist of a few strong enemies. Hordes, on the other hand, are composed of a large number of enemies associated with the ruin. Hordes are led by a horde captain, who is the one that drops the valuable items.
Alex started walking on the path that would take him to the boss room as quickly as possible.
For the most part Alex only used his sword as a normal sword to save energy. Although the sword only had a cool down it took up a lot of focus in Alex's mind.
Alex prefers to be thinking ahead whenever he can. It was a relief seeing blue slimes. Some people capture blue slimes and train them as pets and then sell them because slimes are cute and easily trained.
Alex had a pet slime before but his parents took it away because he would rather play with it than study. He felt bad for killing slimes but he also knew they would kill him if they got the chance.
Killing slimes is easy; a child with a knife could do it. Alex was able to do it easily. Making his way through the ruins Alex expertly swung his sword, slicing through the slimes with precision. Each strike was more swift and calculated than the last. The slimes dissolved into puddles of goo at his feet, no match for his ever growing skill. With each kill more effortless than the last , Alex's confidence grew.
The walk wasn't even tiresome compared to the walks to get around the mansion. He reached the door and it had different coverings than the last one.
Alex suspected these coverings meant something but he was no expert and only showed curiosity for a bit. After Alex was done looking he sat down next to the door and opened his bag and took out some "jerky" he couldn't really afford to question what it was so he ate it with an open mind.
He just wanted to enjoy food before the horde battle. He drank some water with the jerky and sat at the door trying to fully understand what happened during the previous boss battle.
He has been told what a unique boss is and how hard they are to beat but he never thought he would even encounter one, let alone fight one. Most hunters don't even see them in their career, unique bosses are similar to myths and fairy tales to most.
Alex thinks deeply about this " I shouldn't tell anyone I defeated it I really don't want the attention".
Alex looks at the door and comes to find himself enamored with the carving and symbol embedded in the door. Some looked similar to runes while others were too complex for him to even kind of understand.
Alex once again placed his hand on a boss room door and once again it opened suspiciously easily.
To Alex's surprise the room he was about to enter wasn't gloomy; it was actually quite the opposite. The room, if you can even call it that, looked like a vast open plain of green grass and bushes with trees here and there. Alex knows ruins are magical but this room redefined Alex's definition of magical. It smelled like mid spring and he could even feel a slight breeze. Before walking in he had a decent idea about what was about to happen. He would walk in, doors slam and slimes would come, then after he killed all of the slimes the captain would spawn.
He briefed himself before walking in. Alex took a step in and he came to find a small ocean of blue. The door slammed shut.
