Chapter 1 - Prologue

Once upon a time, long long ago, the Mystic world was split in two factions. The Dark faction, with all the dark affinity creatures(vampires, demons, etc.), and the Light faction, with the light affinity creatures(light fae, light elves, etc.). The Light faction was ruled by the Sun God, the most powerful god in the light faction, and the dark faction by the Moon Goddess, . These two factions were always very hostile to each other and fought whenever given the chance to, that is, until the young heir of Sun, Helion, and young heir of Moon, Luna, fell in love.

This love was, of course, forbidden and they knew it but they did not care. Years passed and they grew closer. It seemed like all was well. However the peace did not last. Trouble came when their parents found out about their little 'affair'. That was the spark that was needed, an all out war broke out between the light and dark factions. Prince Helion and Princess Luna ran away together in the chaos and slowly build a following. Three years later they came back with all their supporters, and waged war on the Sun God and Moon Goddess and all their followers. After years of fighting and some casualties, they won the war when they killed the Sun God and Moon Goddess in their respective castles.

After that, they hunted down all their remaining supporters and publicly executed them. After that, there was a period of recuperation where the Mystic took the time to heal the wounds of war. Prince Helion and Princess Luna ascended their respective thrones. The first things they both did when they gained power was to unite the two factions into one, by means of marriage, bringing a new era of peace.

Helion, was now known as King Helion, the Sun God, and Luna, known as Queen Luna, the Moon Goddess. They were known to be fair and just rulers. It took a few years, but slowly the two factions started getting along. The world of mystics calmed down and was peaceful with no fighting, except the occasional scuffle.

After surveying the result of the war, they realised that a lot of humans, who are the weakest race, were harmed and their populations halved. They came to the decision that human should have their memories erased about their existence, for their own protection. So from that day forth, human did not know of the existence of other Mystics but instead thought of them as tales from long ago.

Some years later, the Mystic world celebrated some good news. The queen was pregnant. There was a big celebration banquet for the future prince or princess.

Nine months later, under the brightest Gemini star, the queen gave birth 3 beautiful baby boys. There was a month-long celebration banquet held in the honour of the 3 baby princes. The first-born was named Lucien, the second Tynan and the third, Aristotle.

The first, with bright blonde hair, had a light affinity. The second, with hair as dark as midnight, had a dark affinity. And the last, with icy silver hair, 's affinity was unknown. The king and queen never revealed it and because of this, most speculated that the baby was a dud, mystics born without any power or affinity. Although it was rare, there were cases where mystic parents birthed a dud. The Mystic world from then on viewed Aristotle as inferior to and weaker than the other 2 princes.

Time passed and the princes grew well. The first two were more social and outgoing while the third was barely seen in public. The official statement was that he was introverted and didn't like being around people but people couldn't help but wonder if that was the real reason or if he was in reality just hiding because of his status as a dud. It had been so long since people last saw him, that they had forgotten almost completely forgotten about him.

They all just had vague recollections of his bright eye catching hair. As for his name, he was known to the mystics officially as The Third Imperial Prince, and unofficially people called him The Useless Third Wheel. Of course this name was only whispered among the people secretly. As the 3 brothers were so close, if the other 2 heard any slander to their thirds name, they were immediately livid and served the 'criminals' various harsh punishments. Ever since one incident were the mystic who was openly mocking the Third Prince, disappeared and the evidence he had ever been alive erased, except for their memories, they knew not to make the same mistake.

Things went on as usual until one day, the Royal Castle was attacked. The royal princes were able to escape, with some complications, but the king and queen unfortunately died in the battle against the enemy. It was truly one of the saddest days in Mystic history. Every mystic mourned their death.

The good news was the king and queen were able to kill the enemy, although it was never clear who or what, exactly, the enemy was. Until this day, the events of what had transpired that day were unknown.

The will of the deceased king and queen was found and the demolished parts of the castle were quickly restored, in preparation of the coronation that was to take place.

Instead of having one of the 3 princes become king, the king and queen had decided to split the Mystic realm into 3 territories that each prince was the designated ruler of. They were to be co-rulers of the entire mystic realm and kings of their respective territories.

What surprised the mystics was not the decision to split the realm like a cake, but the fact that the third was also getting a piece of that cake. A large piece at that, if rumours were to be trusted.

The day of the coronation arrived and mystics far and wide congregated at a large church, that had not been used since the last coronation of the previous king and queen. Those who weren't important enough, or who came late and didn't find a seat, stood at the back of the church to watch the proceeding.

There were 3 crowns lined up on red velvet pillows at the front on a stand. Above the crowns was another stand with a bigger, more majestic crown with a orb and a sceptre on either side of it.

The proceedings began and turns out the rumours were true! The third prince really did get the most territory. He had a 40% share of the mystic world, while the other princes both had 30% each. What kind trickery was this?! Most just speculated that the king and queen had felt sorry for him and the life he led so they gave him the land as consolation.

More shocking, however, was the fact that when the coronation began, only the first 2 princes walked in and received their crowns. This Useless Third Wheel had the gall to skip his own coronation. Of course he was still considered the king of his territory as the coronation was just a show put on for the public, but still to skip it was a bit...

After the coronation, and announcement was made about how things would work. According to the wills of the previous king and queen, King Lucien would rule over the light affinity mystics and those who choose to join the light faction and King Tynan, the dark faction. King Aristotle would rule over a new type of faction, the neutral faction. This faction was for all the mystics who did not wish to pick between dark and light, for those who choose to remain neutral.

The factions were for the battle for the throne. The battle was still ongoing and in the case they, the king and queen, weren't able to or something happens to them they had set up a system that would help choose the best ruler among the 3. They would have to rule over their respective territories to the best of their abilities and when one of them is found suitable, the crown and sceptre will glow bright and choose the one of the kings to be the Supreme Monarch of the Mystic worlds.

For those who wanted to support King Lucien, they should join the Light Faction let him rule them, guiding him where needed and helping him become a ruler fit to be the Supreme Monarch. For those who supported King Tynan, they should join the Dark Faction and help him to the Supreme Monarch title. For those who either supported King Aristotle or wanted to remain neutral in the battle, they should join the Neutral Faction.

Although there were no prejudices between the light and dark affinity mystics, maybe out of a sense of kinship, the mystics who joined King Tynan were all of a dark affinity and those who joined King Lucien, were of a light affinity. King Aristotle was the only one who had people of both affinities join his faction.

The kings and mystics all relocated to their respective territories and tried to get things together. Surprisingly, although he didn't claim his crown, King Aristotle was doing the best out of the 3 brothers. His territory was thriving and there were almost no problems occurring in his territory. He solved problem after problem with vicious intellect until his territory was like a Utopia of peace. Things were going so well people started believing the other 2 kings would feel threatened and try to bring him down a peg or he would directly win the battle. But neither of these things happened.

Instead rather than feeling threatened, King Tynan and King Lucien were rather proud of their brother's accomplishments, making sure to boast everywhere they went, and even allowed him to enter and do as he pleases in their territories.

On the other hand, after his territory reached an almost Utopia state, he handed over the responsibility of ruling to his ministers and just left. No one knows where he went or when/if he was coming back.

It seemed that not even the brothers knew where he was as for a while they seemed kind of lethargic and had a cloud of melancholy hanging over them everywhere they had. For a time there, they spend all their resources trying to find him, but allegedly, after receiving a message from him telling him to stop and asking them to stop their search, they stopped

After leaving, the third king, King Aristotle was never heard from again and until this day no one has found his whereabouts.

When he disappeared it wasn't just the his brothers and his subjects who were mourning their loos. Somewhere in a particular church, a particular crown glowed faintly before returning to its original state, like nothing ever happened.
