Ichinose then instigated the conversation, "About our rankings, I'm more than satisfied. And Hinode-san, congrats on you being ranked first place of all first-years. I knew that you are someone to be kept an eye on."
"Thank you, Ichinose. Otogi could still catch up to me if I'm not careful with my training though, but honestly, anywhere in the top 5 is satisfactory to me."
"The class 1-C girl? But you'd get more points if you stay number one! Imagine becoming so rich that you could buy anything here," Saki opened her eyes in realization. "It is your duty to maintain the lead!"
She was trying to live off me if she ever ran out of points to spend. A cunning idea by Saki, but I would shoot it down before she even asked about it.
"W-why are you looking at me with your dead eyes?" Saki shily turned away.
"Anyway, what I meant is it's not about the points we would earn. It is about creating a sense of trust and unity before diving into uncharted waters since we are practically strangers. And ranking high would aid us in that department, which is establishing credibility for people to have confidence in the class cabinet."
"I agree. A leader without the support of their followers would be a disaster. For that reason, I suggest we work according to our strengths. Based on Hiyori's ratings, for example, she shines at providing crucial suggestions, information, or even mentorship. Our job is to execute it perfectly."
"Is that so?" I opened the school's app and navigated Azuma's profile. In fact, she is ranked 8th among first-year students which impressed me slightly.

"Wow! Azuma-san, your profile is full of A's. As expected of our vice president!"
Azuma was impressive in her own rights. She had everything available to be a grand strategist who would serve great purposes as a right-hand woman for Ichinose. But the scary detail was that if Azuma were to train and become an above-average combatant, she would be a frightening individual that could go solo if she found it convenient.
"Thank you," a whispering and light tone spread out in the air. That reminded me, Azuma hadn't said a word since she and Ichinose came to us. Her voice was unexpectedly silvery, mixed with a little wobbliness. Just from her voice, I could tell you that she was a gentle person at heart and only spoke when necessary.
"You're truly impressive, Azuma. I'm certain you would become an inspirational figure in our class," I had to compliment Azuma for her incredible feat.
"I will try to be," Azuma gently smiled. She was, in a way, similar to one of the main cast in a high-school movie or series. Anyone's heart would falter for her innocent and angel-like personality.
"One question, Hinode-san," Ichinose interjected. "I wonder how you scored 97 in Combat Prowess? Not to mention, other categories that relate to combat are rather splendid as well…"
"About that, I trained in sword combat since I was about three. My family devoted themselves to being Repulsors and mentoring me to be one. I found out this purpose years later though. The harsh guidance didn't seem so meaningless anymore beyond that point, so I kept on practicing."
"I see, that explains a lot. Practice makes perfect, after all."
An imperfect but impactful idiom. A skill takes blood, sweat, and tears to master, but to say that something is perfected would be faulty. One could be proficient but to be perfect is an exaggeration. In other words, the word is taken too lightly and people should reconsider how to use the word. However, it is exactly that exaggerated feature that makes it impactful to our interest. Everyone loves perfection, and everybody wants to achieve it.
"Now that we understand each other's capabilities, how should we operate as our class body? I'm not sure what's the approach as a representative," I raised a question. Having no experience in school was proven to be detrimental for me, especially when I was taking a huge role within the class.
"I'm clueless either. This academy is anything but a regular school that follows the normal education system. I guess we have to go with the flow until Nakano-sensei gives us further instructions."
"It's only day one guys! We don't need to worry about it just yet, you know," Saki said.
"You're right, Hirawa-san. We don't even know what the future will offer us, so in the meantime, we should relax a bit before getting serious."
It seemed everyone had little to no clue about what would occur in this place. Saki was accurate about our views. We were being too serious and kept overthinking things when it wasn't the right time yet.
"How about this? There's a convenience store and a cafe nearby where we could relax ourselves. A perfect plan for our first day here!" Saki proposed her plan for today. It sounded not bad at all. Getting to know each other whilst doing entertaining activities was the most optimal.
"I haven't had breakfast yet, so I vouch for Saki's idea," Ichinose said.
"I love the plan as well," Azuma joined in.
This was turning out to be more of a girl's hangout. For a boy to interrupt during this time around would cause some awkwardness. They had another realm of topics for conversations. A quiet guy like me wouldn't contribute anything. I was frightened that I would do something halfwitted that could tarnish my image inside their minds.
"Alright, let's go!"
But before I could reject the invitation, Saki grabbed my forearm and dragged me out of the room, leaving me no choice but to go, "Don't plan on escaping, okay~?" she said with a cutesy voice that could capture every boy's heart near the vicinity, but I found it creepy.
