"The gift is supposed to be a surprise, is it not? You will find out when the time is right, but don't get your hopes up," Sierra warned, "I'm not made of gold."
She looked down at her feet as she muttered, "Not like some of the others."
"Sierra," he said softly as he cupped her chin, tilting her face so that their eyes met.
"I don't need wealth or anything made of gold. What I want," he said carefully as he pointed to her chest, "Is what comes from the heart."
"Really?" She looked at him longingly.
She thought perhaps he was just saying that to make her feel better. Unlike the princesses, who had their royal families to pay for everything, Sierra was the daughter of a general. While they do come from wealth and the Bancroft Family was by no means poor, she knew she could never measure up to the wealth the other princesses had.
"Really, that's all I want," he reaffirmed his words.
