The carriage stops as it enters the small town. Some people are curious enough to look at the wooden carriage as it enters the town. The carriage moves down the street as it reaches the local carriage stop. The carriage stops as the driver, a woman in her 30s spoke.
"Young master we have arrived."
"Good"
Mors said as he opens the door. He breathes in the fresh air and stretches out his body. He looks at the female driver and gives her a gold coin. She catches the coin with shaking hands. She looks at Mors as she bows her head deeply.
"Thank you oh esteem cultivator!"
"You are welcome."
Mors said as he waves goodbye to the woman. He went to the side wall and started to walk around the town. His high-end outfit attracts the attention of people but also their fear. Everyone knew that the only people who will wear such expensive and mythical clothing are cultivators.
Even the mortals felt that the cultivator who just arrives in their town is very strong. He probably came to enter the nearby permanent tower. As Mors walks the streets, he asks some random citizen what the best hotel in the city is. After getting a satisfying answer he made his way there after getting directions.
'Look at me, a rich person in another world only going to the best hotels. Eating the best food and being part of the elite ruling class. Fighting for democracy my ass'
Mors thought as he walks down the sidewalk. He scuffs at his own moral inconstancy. But such heavy discussion can be done when walking down the side wall and to his new temporally resident. He enters the hotel and pays for a room. The room cost 5 gold coins per night, with food, drinks, and bath included.
Mors pays the receptionist 30 gold coins. He does not know how long it will take to gather the materials, so it's better to pay a lot of days in advance than to worry about getting kicked out. Mors takes the keys out of the receptionist's hand and stored them in his gold coin storage ring.
He walks out of the hotel and towards one of the city's exits. He already knew where the tower is. Such information was provided by the clan before he left. It took Mors one hour to reach the 20 floors of high stone tower. Its architecture feels alien when compared to the Asian architecture of this region.
Engrave into the wall of the circular tower are waves, whales, ships, islands, and ocean monsters. On the very top floor of the tower is a small hole. From this hole comes out endless clear crystal water. This water lands on the moat that has been dug around the tower.
A small stone bridge goes over the water moat. The moat those do not seem to be filling up at all, it must be either very deep or water is being channeled somewhere else. Mors walks over the bridge and arrives in front of a small makeshift wooden station placed in front of the tower.
The guard, a mortal stage cultivator looks at Mors as he points to the crystal ball resting on a soft cushion.
"You know what to do"
Mors nods his head as he bites one of his fingers and presses it on the ball. The blood enters the crystal ball. The green light comes out of it as the blood disappears inside of it. The guard nods his head as he looks at Mors.
"You may enter, good luck out there and come back alive."
Mors smiles under his mask as he walks toward the entrance of the tower. He pushes open the stone door with no difficulty. The door opens with the horrible sound of stone against stone. The inside of the tower is pitch black, not even the light from the outside world broke through the endless darkness.
Mors enters the room as the door closes behind him with a large thud! Cover in darkness Mors did not fear or shake. He takes out his trusted sword, focusing all his senses on his hearing. But nothing happens, no sound of something moving or the presence of someone else in this room.
Soon the darkness started to disperse. Flickers of light started to enter Mor's eyes. The next second a wave of light enters Mor's eyes, blinding him for a few seconds as all he saw was pure white light. Soon this light changes into different shapes and colors.
As his vision returned, what stood in front of Mors is a tropical paradise. Large palm trees, endless clear crystal waters, rough yellow sand that gets everywhere. Mors breathe in the fresh air of the tropical islands.
"Holy shit, it's like the Caribbean that was talked about in history books."
Mors said as he recalls the description of the lost islands of the Caribbean. Mors looks around as he could not contain his excitement.
"Man, this is like another whole world."
Mors spoke to himself as he tries to look at his status window. Only to find it missing, a single replaying in his mind. The voice is the same mechanical voice of the system.
[The system is not available in [World Bridges]. This message has been given to Mors Mundi by the Administrator]
"Huh? Wait a second… the system has an administrator. It does not work in World Bridges…. Don't tell me this is another world!? Then is the door that opens when you defeat the boss of the tower the portal that brings you back to your previous world?"
"This would explain why invasion towers change the environment once it wins. The tower changes the environment to match the world it's connected to."
"The system only works within the confinement of the world. Ho, this is some juicy information my beautiful wife will love to hear."
Mors said to himself as he heard bushes moving and broken twigs. Something is approaching him, with a smile on his face and sword in hand. He is ready to face his first other-world enemy.
