In one of the many large houses that are within the clan state of the Wu family. A couple was sitting next to each other. In their share study, sitting on wooden luxury chairs, with stacks of papers decorating the wooden table in front of them.
They are wearing a loose set of clothing. Comfortable on their bodies and easy to take off whenever the mood calls for it. Zhihui had her hair flowing down, a bit messy. Not because she is too lazy to fix it and keep it nice and neat. Mors is showing off his handsome face, his bulging brown muscles poking through the loose clothing.
Small bite marks decorate his neck. His chest and back were red with scratch marks. If anyone were to see him now, they will think that he got into a big fight and lost. Mors rubs the base of his neck as he looks at Zhihui with a teasing smile.
"Damn girl, if you continue like this I might bleed out in bed."
"….Who is the one that said multiple times how much they like dominant women?"
"Alright you got me there," Mors said as he leans. His lips inch away from Zhihui's ear. His hot wet breath tickled her skin. "You can be a rougher later on~"
"Stop!"
Zhihui said as she pushes Mors away. A soft pink blush on her face.
"You said that we will finish grading these things by today! I am not letting it be delayed another day because of you!"
Mors makes an exaggerated move. Acting like a stereotypical sexy mistress. He exposes more of his bulging chest muscles. Moves his hand down his body, highlining his defined muscles. His voice was like an old seductress.
"Irresistible aren't I?"
Zhihui eyes fixated on her husband for a few seconds. A certain urge built up in her body. But with willpower alone, she ignored the effects of her husband's seduction. Her voice had a defeated tone to it.
"Can we please focus on this for now?"
"Haha alright," Mors said as he fixes his clothing, his posture straightened up as he gets closer to the wooden table.
"So, what do you think of this cultivator?"
Zhihui asks as she hangs over to Mors six pieces of paper that have been bound together. Mors grabs the small stack of papers as he reads over them. Forgetting in a second the name of the cultivator, for he could care less.
"Um, I think she is average at best. Based on all the tests, she scores a solid 5.5"
"I thought the same thing but let's not put her in the failure pile just yet. She can still join if most people are just bad."
Zhihui said as she grabs the paper stack and puts it on top of a semi-large paper stack. This is where all the average-level cultivators are placed till further discussion. To the sides of this paper stack are two other stacks. The left one is for the cultivators not deemed worthy enough to join the sect. While the right one is the one deemed worthy.
There are more rejected cultivators than average cultivators and accepted cultivators. Even if that sect elder has the final saying, they were confident in their assessment so far. Zhihui grabs another stack of papers, this being the test results of Bai Wei.
"Bai Wei, mortal rank six. Above average test results, affinity with the lighting element, and finish the final test in 2 minutes" She gave the paper to Mors.
"She got a good head on her shoulder and is quick on her feet. Going from what I saw, she has lots of potentials. She passes"
"Agree."
She took the stack of papers from her husband's hands and puts it on the passing stack. They go on like this for a few hours. But even as they put papers in average, fail, or the pass stacks, their work was in no way done. Zhihui eyes focus on the paper in her hands.
"Jinshu Xia, average score for some test. But has two elemental affinities and one of them is a heavenly element."
She gave the stack of paper to Mors.
"He is smart and knows how to use his limited set of skills to the best. From what I heard he was not tough any cultivator or skills by his family"
"I also heard of that- but if that is the case then how did he reach mortal rank five?"
"Another question is why was he not taught skills from his clan when he has a metal affinity. They are a family of crafters; such an affinity will come in helpful."
"Um…truly a mystery"
Mors looks at his beautiful wife for a few seconds before he opens his mouth again.
"I believe he was thought by someone else cultivation skills and technique."
"The logical answer, but who?"
"When I teleported to pick up the female cultivator he defeated, I heard him talking to someone. But he was alone."
"That should be impossible, there aren't that many artifacts that allow for long-distance communication. And one of such items is being produced under our sponsorship."
Mors looks at Zhihui for a few seconds.
"I will investigate him for a few days to see if I can find this hidden master of his. But for now, put him in the accepted pile."
"Sure thing"
The couple spends the rest of the day doing this, stopping from time to time to relieve some of their stress and desires on each other's bodies. But even a full day of working on this did not finish the project in from of them. It took two extra days for all the cultivators to be sorted out and an extra four weeks for the sect elder to approve each of the results.
During this time Mors kept a close eye on Xia. Like a well-hidden assassin, he was never found. Gathering enough information to make his original hypothesis correct.
"Xia is being thought by an external force, something that those do not have a physical body."
"A ghost?" Zhihui question
"That or something worse"
"I see.. arrange a meeting with him. We need to reach the bottom of this."
"Yes! Now don't I deserve a reward for this?"
"….Yes you do."
