Once he finishes applying Cow Evergreen to his wounds he stood up. Thankfully he did not lose too much blood from the wounds. His Qi storages are passing the halfway mark.
"While that ball of fire was useful. It still costs a lot to do."
Xia said to himself. The old master crafter's voice echoed in his head.
"That is because it's not a battle skill! It's supposed to be used for crafting. Trying to change how a skill works is a sure way to waste Qi and also damage yourself."
"…Did not know there was danger involved in that."
" Of course, there is! Unless you are super gifted, changing how a skill works is a sure way to attract danger."
Mors sneezes as he looks around. Confusion painted on his face
"I see… I won't do that again old man."
"Good, good"
Kathako sigh in relief after he heard Xia's response. Xia dries his bloody hand on a nearby bush as he continues his walk for more people to hunt. Hammer in his left hand and shield in his right hand. As he walks through the forest, the sound of distance battles enters his ears.
The forest became a battleground for countless individual and group battles. The sun slowly sets down, and in about six to five hours the sun will set down. Xia needs to get five more points before that happens to pass this test. As Xia walks over sticks, roots, and fallen leaves.
He heard raging fire. The clash of metal against metal. And the grunting of pain. Xia's head turns in the direction of the sound. Raising his shield to his chest and spinning his hammer in his hand as he walks toward the source of the noise.
"You don't have any damaging skills compared to these young masters and ladies. Because of that, you must be more careful and smatter. Use everything to your disposal to win."
Xia nods his head to the old ghost as he arrives at the edge of the battle. In front of Xia, between some of the large trees are two people fighting. One of them is a man in his early 20s. With short green hair and a delicate look on his face. He is wielding a long spear. A wooden number hangs from this man's waist, depicting the number one.
The opponent of the green hair guy is another guy. Having blue color hair in a small ponytail. In his left hand is a light-handed sword. Around his neck is the wooden number two. These two seem to be fighting for some time, each having lots of wounds on their bodies. The metal part of their weapons covers in fresh blood.
Xia breathes in as he tightens his grip on his hammer. As he breathes out he rushes out from behind the bush. Catching the attention, of the two young cultivators. Xia's skin turns as hard as stone and complex gray color. The green hair man kicks the ground, making some distance between himself and the ponytail man.
The ponytail man looks around for a few seconds, assessing his situation. As Xia got closer to him, the ponytail man engulfs his sword in bright red flames. He swings his sword at Xia, who easily dodges the attack of the sword. But before Xia can counterattack, he felt danger.
With quick feet, he moves to the side. Dodging the spear attack from the green haired man. The ponytail main moves his sword as he does a slash in the air. Creating a fire slash that travels through the air and towards the green-haired man. The man retracts his spear and hits the butt of it against the ground.
An earth wall appears in front of the man. But this flimsy earth wall did not fully stop the fire attack. The fire slash cut through the earth wall like it was butter. Of course, this is not the first time this happen as the green man already dodge out of the way. Only to be met with a shadow and an approaching hammer.
The man clicks his tongue as he uses the body of his spear to block the hammer. But this is what Xia wanted.
"Say goodbye to your sad excuse of a spear"
The old voice of Kathako rang in Xia's ears as his hammer strikes its true target. The head of the hammer hit the weak spot of the spear. Causing a chain reaction that broke the spear into three parts. Making the green hair and the ponytail cultivator's eyes widen with surprise.
Xia took advantage of this as he takes a step forward. Putting all his force behind his left hand. But before he can deal the finishing blow, the warmness of fire got close to him. In a split second, he turns around as he goes from attacking to defending.
His shield blocks the sword but soon catches on fire. Xia clicks his tongue as he turns around and throws the burning shield at the green haired man. Who now wields two pieces of his broken spear. His right-hand hold the piece with the tip still attach. While his left-hand holds the butt end of the spear.
The green hair man did not fully dodge the shield throw. The shield hits the lower part of his left leg. Bruising the muscle and causing his pants to start burning.
Silence consumes the trio as they look at each other. Each of their tired and in worse shape than before. Green hair with a broken weapon. While ponytail and Xia are running low on Qi and energy. All three of them started to analyze their situation. Trying to find out if they should retreat or continue to fight.
The only thing that brings them back to the real world is the scream of pain that came from the green-haired man. Xia and the ponytail cultivator turn to look at the green-haired man. Only to find an arrow has pierced his left leg. The arrow pierces his leg, pinning the man to the ground. His panicked, oddly feminine voice echoes through the battlefield.
"Fine fine! I give up!"
He said as he takes out his number and throws it on the ground. The moment that happens Mors appears once again and took away the defeated cultivator. Xia swallows some of his salivae as he hears the old ghost's voice.
"An archer- uh things have gotten complicated."
