The Greater River Sect is a large sect within the east side of the Plains region. One of many states that broke free from The Dragon Empire Sect when it started its long collapse. The environment in this sect is founded in is unique in many ways. One of these unique features is the abundance of rivers and lakes the sect has access to.
Because of this fishing and trade came easily to this new state. Using those as its foundation it made itself the center of trade between the east and the west sects. Devouring land around itself while doing so. Making everyone dependent on them and their prestigious merchant ships.
With one of the many trade cities within The Greater River Republics, another name for this sect, a young man wakes up in his middle-class bedroom. His bed is cold and empty as he pushes the sheets off his skinny body, he is nothing more than skin and bone. Having not an ounce of masculine muscle on him. With short black hair and blue color eyes.
His room is nicely decorated, made of wood that no normal peasant could ever get their hands on. Wearing clothes of fine silk and sleeping on a bed of amazing sheep wool. Pricy-looking paintings hang from the walls. As the skinny man gets out of bed and steps on the cold wood floor, he shivers somewhat.
After all, he is just a mortal man and doesn't have the tolerance to temperature that cultivators do. Wrapping his night clothing around himself, he walks out of the room. The first thing he is greeted by is a female servant, a woman with short hair, dog ears on the side of her head, and a fluffy tail growing from her tailbone.
"Good morning master"
"Morning Quan, please get my breakfast to my office"
"Sure, thing master"
The dog woman said as she did a small bow to her master and started walking away. The skinny man's house, which goes by the name Bu Chungyao, is 3 floors high and has a large back and front garden. With multiple servants on his payroll. He has enough money to even hired mortal stage cultivators to serve as his guards.
Even if it's only two of them, that is enough to show his large amount of wealth. The man arrives in front of a red color wooden door. The man grabs the handle of the door and pushes it open, entering his large office. The office like other offices has a bookshelf, a desk, and chairs.
On the left wall hangs a very well-detailed and large map of The Greater River Sect. it shows in grand detail its many name and unnamed rivers. Its large coastline meets the "Dragon Cut channel". The man still in his sleeping clothing walks towards his desk and sits down. Looking at the already open letter from yesterday.
"Those Green Dragon Company bastards have been getting cocky as of late"
The man said, as the owner of the Rewood Company. Any news about his competitor's movement is of the most importance. The Rewood started as a transportation company at first, acting as a middleman for many larger resources producing and extracting companies. But since every company wants to have as much profit as possible.
Eliminating the middleman of transportation saves them a lot of money. This caused the Rewood company to move from moving cargo to moving people. Connecting cities and towns within The Greater River Republics. No resource can be made without workers.
"At first it was just the outer cities in the border, but now they are enclosing in my territory and the mastermind behind it all is this person"
He said while looking at the picture that is attached to the letter, the picture of a man with blueish color skin and scales on his face. A human, make no mistake about it, he just has one of many share heritages shared by both Goblins and Humans.
"If I just get rid of him then it would no longer affect me.. Maybe calling for a "raid" will make them back out"
The man said while looking at the map that hangs from his wall, such detailed maps are very pricy and hard to come by. But they also provide valuable military intelligence. Making the act of keeping such maps a secret very important. The man stands up as he walks toward the map, pointing to a border city as he talks to himself.
"Perfect, this city should be sacrificed for my profits"
The man said, a small evil smile on his face. The dark tentacles of a dark mother envelop his heart. He doesn't know as he is just a mortal, but the [Dark Young] has long since corrupted his heart. As a sect built-in wealth and trade, the greed and jealousy of man become ever more pronounced.
Combine that with the freedom to elect your own leaders that the sect is proud of. It makes the perfect place to breed jealousy and greed, the core belief of the [Dark Young]. As the man sits back at his desk to wait for his breakfast. One of his servants, another woman with animal ears and a tail comes into his office. Kicking the door open.
"Mao! What is the Dragon's good grace do you think you are doing!? Did I pick you up from the orphanage just so you can break my fucking doors!?"
The maid, realizing her mistake started to shake in fear. Bowing down to the sitting master. Holding in her shaking hands a letter.
"I am sorry master! But a letter from them came so I want-"
"Shut up! I know what you are talking about, give me the letter and get back to work"
"yes master"
The woman said as she walks towards the master and gives him the letter. Excusing herself as she leaves and closes the door behind herself. Chungyao looks at the letter with anxiety as he opens the letter up. Even he, someone with power and connections fears someone.
He did not even read the letter out loud he just looks at it
'Collect a deadly potion that can be used against a commander stage cultivator, this must be done in a week'
"I see…looks like I need to call for "Black Tooth""
