Chereads / The Cultivation Tower System / Chapter 136 - A Duel

Chapter 136 - A Duel

Guyuk is a self-reform Elf, with pointy ears. Yellow hair and orange eyes. From his looks alone, you might think he related to the Great Khan. While not wrong, also not right. Maybe they share a similar ancestor, but it is so far back that they can't really call each other relatives. Even if they are from the same clan.

He also goes by the name Khuuramch Khukher. Elfs have two sets of names, their mortal and earth name. The mortal name is the name given to people by their parents and communities. While the earth name is the name of the gods, given as a blessing in the "Earth Ritual"

In this ritual, a priest will scatter gems, minerals, and metals inside of a box. You must reach inside the box with your eyes close and take out one of the items inside it. Once you show what you got, the priest will then give you a name base on the item.

Mortal names are used by those close to you, while the earth name is used for more formal settings. Guyuk is a warrior rank 10 cultivator. Just one step away from joining the high ranks that it's the commander stage cultivators. Because the Elfs don't have the infrastructure that the sects do. It is very hard for cultivators to write down their techniques and pass them down.

So, must techniques be passed by oral tradition. Like the sects, there are not that many resources to go around. Making it very hard for everyone to be a cultivator. But that did not stop the Elfs, as almost everyone in their clans are cultivators. While most of them are just mortal stages and not even reaching the halfway point, it still is an impressive feat.

When people in tight family units have one thing, it is very normal for them to share it with the other members of the clan. After all, everyone is working for their own survival and happiness. Being nice and sharing with each other increases everyone's happiness and chances of survival. One of the many things the Lords of Gold teach

This of course stops jealousy from becoming too strong, but when it comes to cultivators, it also increases everyone's chances of survival. Even if not many of them reach the warrior stage. Even if their foundation is weak and a bit shaky. The more cultivators one has in this environment, the greater the chances of survival.

In the Green Sea, other than the sentient races, monsters are the most dangerous things. The plains allow for monsters to have large territories, increase their numbers, and in turn their strength. All monsters are cultivators the moment they are born, needing not to learn complex skills and techniques to cultivate like Humans, Goblins, or Spirits.

As long as a monster fights and eats, it would grow in strength. It becomes of the nature of monsters, that the Elfs need to make everyone a cultivator. A mortal rank 1 cultivator will be more useful than a mortal with no cultivation. Because of this need for strength for survival, clans form and die based on how strong their leader is.

Guyuk is enjoying his daydreaming, of having a harem of women that serve him every second. Just before he losses himself to his fantasies, one of his followers. A cute Elf woman he has taken a liking to rushes into his tent. Breaking his daydreaming and annoying him somewhat, as he sits up and looks at her.

"What?"

"Khuuramch Khukher! A Human from the sects came to the camp to help us out against the outer world corruption [Hunger]"

"What? Why the hell do we need the help of sect Humans? I much prefer the Dwarf or Zanth to help us that Humans." He said, raising an eyebrow and his tone of voice. He could not see how the Great Khan will be fine with this.

"I think the Great Khan became desperate because the Dwarf and Zanth could not help us. After all, this vision of copper is undecided if we win or lose"

"um…."

Guyuk could not argue what she was saying, after all, it made perfect sense. But it can't be ignored that the Humans from the Sects and the Elfs don't really get along. After all the bloodshed between the two groups is something that is not easy to forget or ignored.

"I think it best if we show that Human their place."

Guyuk said as he stood up from his spot and walk out with his female servant. The two of them spend some time looking around for this human, only to come back empty-handed. As the sun set down, the two of them went to their local campfire to eat. Getting a bowl of meat and naturally grown vegetables. As they eat their meal, Guyuk saw something from the corner of his eye.

A beautiful woman with long flowing black hair, and a beautiful hand-crafted body with amazing proportions. Gray color eyes and a beautiful face with tan flawless skin. So beautiful that it made his heart skip a beat and the desire to make her his woman surfaced in his mind.

But as he notices her clothing, all of that attraction dies away.

"So that is the Human, I will go ahead and give them a piece of my mind"

Guyuk said as he stood up, leaving behind his half-unfished bowl.

"You got this boss! Show them who is boss!"

His female companion said behind him as he approaches the Human woman, the smell of blood lingering around her body. She probably came back from a hunt. As Zhihui notices the presses she turns to face him, Guyuk trying his best to ignore his beating heart as he spoke in a commanding tone.

"Human just because the Great Khan asks for your help doesn't mean we accept you! You, humans, have killed many of our kind! The bad blood between our two-group run-"

"Excuse me, can you please move that way"

Guyuk taken aback by her calm and collected tone took a step back. Zhihui nodded her head as she made a beautiful tent appear in the spot he once was. Guyuk could not believe what he saw, she made something appear from thin air!? How is that possible?!

"Um..Like I was saying the bad blood between the two groups is too much to just I-"

Zhihui ignored the talking buffoon in front of her as she started to make a campfire to cook the meat she got from her hunt. Guyu seeing this could not help but fume at this, but went back to his group to continue his dinner. Then the next day came.

"Human you have to know you-"

"Can you please move out of the way?"

Then the next came by

"Hum-"

"You are blocking the way"

Then the next day

"Hu-"

"I am sleeping"

Then came the next day, Guyuk could no longer hold back any more. As he stops Zhihui right on her track, his face completely red. Next to him is his bounded beast, a snake-like monster with gray scales. A long heavy sword rested on his back, as he spoke with anger.

"Wu Zhihui! I challenge you to a duel!"

"I accept"

Zhihui said as a crow started to gather around them, Zhihui knew that she was not like by the people here. Not like could she blame them.

'I did not know it would take this long for one of them to challenge me'

Everything was going according to plan. The Elfs hated and did not respect her, even if she was currently helping and came here because the Great Khan ask for help. She knew people respect strength just like Mors said. If she had the time, she would earn respect with the Elves through more honorable means. But she did not have the luxury of doing so, plus she did not come here to earn respect or reputation.

She came here to save the elves so her clan and sect don't collapse. If achieving this goal requires the use of some strength she did not mind.
