Chapter 123 - Dwarf Settlement Part 2

The underground settlement is a sight to behold. Countless buildings made of rock and brick decorate the large cavern in front of him. The air that lingers in the settlement is both heavy and rough, making it somewhat hard for Mors to breathe.

The road between the buildings is wide enough to fit multiple large wagons in it. The sound of gunfire and explosions echo through the tightly packs underground settlement. Mor's eyes follow the sound, as he sees a large metal wall that starts from the bottom of the cavern and reaches the very top of the cavern ceiling.

The wall allows for no air units to cross over it, a perfect wall to protect the settlement from the dangers of the outside. Mors could see countless Dwarfs walking around, pulling wagons full of weapons and ammunition. Their destination is no other than the front line which is the giant metal wall.

Mors was only awakened from his thinking by the rough voice of the female Dwarf.

"Hey! Move your ass or I will move it for you!"

"Yes Ma'am"

Mors said as he follows the Dwarf woman, they walk on the sidewalk of the streets. Letting the panic Dwarfs move their goods without disturbing them. The duo continues to walk across the settlement. Soon arriving in front of a large marble building with clear windows and a flag flying from its highest point. In front of the front wooden doors of this building is two well-crafted stone statues, one on each side.

The statues seem to depict a Dwarf mining and a Dwarf crafting something in an anvil. The building seems to have no guards as the woman opens the door. They are greeted with a beautiful clean hallway, with countless doors on either side. Two sets of stairways at the very back, leading to the top floor.

But that is not their destination as the woman leads him to one of the many doors in sight. As she knocks on the door softly, the voice of a tired man comes from the other side of the door.

"Come in"

The woman nodded her head to the voice as she opens the door, reviling a small room. On the right wall, there is a table with a chair behind it and two chairs in front of it. The other walls were full of bookshelves holding papers, books, and documents. In the middle of the room, is a display case held by a jade pillar. Inside of the display case is a gray color wood cutting axe.

From Mor's perspective, as someone who doesn't know if an item is well crafted or not. The axe seems to be perfect to the naked eye, the kind of axe that won't leave your hand or break when chopping down a tree.

"Sarra you have two minutes to explain why there is an Elf in my office"

"Yes Bujir!"

The woman said as she walked toward the Dwarf male, with short gray color hair, with some bald spots. With a gray color long braided beard. His eyes are brown in color, with a short stature like Sarra. With bulging muscles, with the area around his face and arms a shade darker than the rest of his body.

The male Dwarf looks at the piece of paper handed to him by the female Dwarf. Looking at it for a few seconds, his eyes slowly go wide as he looks at Mors.

"You.. It said here that you wanted to help us. But how can I trust a human from the sects so easily, tell me what you want"

Bujir 'Piston' Iron Hammer said while looking at Mors. He could not believe what was written on the piece of paper. A human originally send to help the Elfs in their war now wanted to help the Dwarf Tribes. There must be something malignant behind Mor's actions, Bujir was sure of it. But his believes gets shattered as Mors shrugs his shoulders

"I only want to help you so you can send some support to the Elfs for their war"

"Really?"

"Yes.."

"…"

Bujir could believe what he heard, the Human must know what type of war the Elfs are going to deal with. So how could the Sects benefit from that? As Bujir goes over countless scenarios in his head as Mors spoke one last time.

"Look man I just want to help you guys out so the Elfs don't get killed, if I help you guys out it would be good for you and you can repay me by helping the Elfs"

"Can you really deal with our spirit problem? We are fighting an enemy that does not feel pain or fear. And everyone we kill is replaced with a new one"

Bujir said, even if he is a commander stage cultivator. He is one of the strongest fighters in this city. The city is facing constant attacks by artificial magma spirits. The enemies can range from the warrior to the commander stage. He is now only able to breathe since the attack right now is not as rough as the early ones.

"That is fine with me, let me help you and you would have a tireless and unending army at your side"

"There is no need to lie…what can a Warrior Stage cultivator do in this situation?"

"Take me to the metal wall and you will see"

"Fine…any type of help is needed it. Plus, I could not find any way you can benefit from helping us and the Elfs. If you can help us defeat the Magma Spirit, then I would gladly lend you my forces to help the Elfs"

A simple smile grows on Mor's face as he stretches his hand out, Bujir shakes Mor's hand as he looks at his face.

"Why are you wearing a mask?"

"It looks cool and has some good enchantments. Also, my name is Wu Ming"

Mors said to the Dwarf leader as he replies back

"My name is Bujir 'Piston' Iron Hammer. Now let's go to the barrier wall as fast as possible"

Like that the trio departed towards the metal wall, a mechanical voice ringing within Mor's ears.
