Chereads / The Cultivation Tower System / Chapter 96 - Using the New Rewards

Chapter 96 - Using the New Rewards

Mors finds himself in front of a large plot of empty land. With no tree in sight, this is the perfect place to do some farming on. Mors did not need to ask for materials if Zhihui is loaded with them, and he can buy them from the system. He would use this plot of land for something better.

He looks at the leather-bound book in his hand, this book talks about the best way to cultivate plants. Talking about how to increase their effectiveness and their growing conditions. Yes, Mors is going to use this piece of land to do some farming. In the Cultivation Tower, there are countless life skills that one could learn.

These skills are used to help you along your path to immortality. The most useful skills in the game are forging, farming, alchemy, cooking, and writing. His favorite skills to master are farming and cooking. In the game, there was a side system that if you cook the right ingredients you will be able to receive a temporally buff.

All the food he has eaten so far has not given him buffs and any buff he can get will make any future fight that much easy. But unlike the game, where you could eat enough food to feed a small family for a month in a second before a boss fight. Real life did not allow such a luxury, so he wanted to innovate.

Drinks, like tea, juices, coffee, and smoothies. He would focus on growing the plants used for those drink and how to make the drink itself, he would make drinks that give buffs. Mor's has hopes that this would work out, as everything so far has been a one-to-one replica of the game systems.

Mors buys himself a hoe for 300 points. A wooden hoe made of black wood and gray color metal appears in his hands. He also spends 100 points on buying various types of seeds, as Mors sits down he opens the leather-bound book. He started to read over it.

He spends 2 hours under the bright sun reading this book, closing it as he gets to the halfway mark. He has come across a problem; the way people farm in this world is a bit different from how the game describes it. In the game, one needs to push their QI into the ground softly.

Over days and months, the ground will enrich and will increase the quality of all crops. But the book talks about how to farm these materials in the way a mortal will, caring about temperature, the water level, and light. The act of adding your QI into the ground is mentioned nowhere.

But in the game, there was also no mention of the different environment's plants grow, as you could grow any type of plant on the same plot of land. Either he could only focus on the game knowledge or the knowledge from this book. But there is a smarter option to do, mix both knowledges.

If he plants the right plant for the right environment, then enrich the ground with QI. With proper care and the right experimentation, he should be able to find the perfect middle ground between the two. A small smile grows on Mor's face as he sits up. Hoe in hand, he starts to hit the ground.

Strike after strike, the ground in front of him slowly changes to that of what you will envision a farm to look like. After cultivating enough ground for his experiments, Mors gives out a tired sigh after working for 3 hours.

He picks one of the fields and gets on his knees, as he slowly infuses his QI into the ground. Slowly and softly, to not cause any damage to the environment. The microorganisms that live in the ground grow stronger with each passing second. But before they can become bloated, he stops. he stands up and started to plant some of the seeds he bought, making sure to put enough space between them. He would repeat this process for half of the fields. The other half he did not infuse his QI into.

Like this Mors spend the rest of the day building fences and scarecrows, as well as watering the ground. As the day slowly ends and the sky becomes dark. Mors could not help but smile at the amount of work he has put into this small garden. From tomorrow onward he would be experimenting and finding the right method of farming. But the smile on his face did not go away as he makes his way back into the clan building. Hungry and tired.

Zhihui Pov-------

Zhihui pushes open a metal door as she is greeted by a cold and empty room. The walls and floor are made from metal. She is on the sect campus, in one of the many close cultivation rooms. These rooms were mostly used if a cultivator wanted to do some peaceful cultivation, or they don't want to harm their surroundings

Zhihui came for both reasons, after receiving her reward and giving Mors a book, he asks for she wanted to upgrade her fire skill to the next level using the phoenix feather. When it comes to upgrading your skill in the warrior stage, there is no set path for you to pick. You must go by your gut feeling and what you believe is right.

Zhihui knew that the fire of the phoenix is second only to the bright sun in the sky. If she wants to immolate a fraction of the sun's power she needs this phoenix feather and something else. As she takes from her ring a material she got from her inheritance.

A small bottle made from glass, inside of this bottle is a small but extremely bright and hot orange flame. When she first got her inheritance she did not know much about the materials she got. But now after getting the system and reading over the ledger for these materials. She knew that the bottle she was holding is extremely valuable.

The past wisdom holder found an underlaying truth of the world. Her knowledge of the elements became the foundation for others after her to use.

"Fire created the first light and shadow. The warmth of life and the coldness of death."

"The phoenix represents the fundamental principle of fire. It never dies, but it's always reborn. Its flames heal and its flames kill."

Zhihui started a weird chanting, she closes her eyes and started to meditate. Slowly absorbing the fire and QI of the phoenix feather and the fire in the bottle. As she continues to remind herself that fire kills but also heals. The fire slowly enters her dantians.

The heat from the fire QI started to concentrate on her first dantian. As the fire started to burn all her cells. The pain assaulted her brain threatening to break her concentration.

But she continues to cultivate the raging fire that is growing in her abdomen, sweat covers her tan skin as she bites her lips. She continues to cultivate and channel the fire QI around her body. The healing properties of fire did not appear as her cells continue to burn to a crisp.

She thinks of her talents and skills and of her knowledge. She opens her eyes as she grabs the phoenix feather and eats it. As the feather breaks down in her stomach a larger quantity of burning fire enters her body. The area around her increases in temperature as the ground beneath her becomes burned.

She then started to focus on the fire in the bottle as she started to absorb its QI. Unlike the phoenix, this fire QI is soft and calming. As this QI enters her first dantian, it started to heal it. Soon these two energies started to fight against each other.

As one destroys, the other one heals and makes a new. Soon light comes from her abdomen, fire has settled nicely within her system. As she finally saw what the previous wisdom meant. Fire is the source of life and energy. But it will soon burn out and die out.

But behind in the ash's new fires, new lives can grow. Her cells will die but will regrow, old fire feeds the new fire. Truly the source of all life. As Zhihui stands up with her eyes still closed, she channels the new fire in her body.

She moves her hands around, as fire comes out of it. A bright yellow and orange fire. A normal-looking fire, till she changes her intentions. If she wants to destroy, the fires turn bright orange. The heat coming from it burns her hands and the environment around her.

But if she wants to heal, wants to create new life. The Fire turns a soft yellow, as the fire slowly heals her burned hands, life slowly grows around her. As she opens her eyes, bright fire in them as she speaks.

"The first flame represented the first death and life. The first cold and hot night. The first death and life. All livings beings live with a fire in their hearts. Only to die when the fire dies and give birth to a new one "
