Chapter 69 - A Worthy Upgrade

Zhihui continues to explore the cave, only the wet feeling of the floor and the light from the mushroom all that she found. There was something oddly creepy about walking in a damp and badly light cave, with nothing but the sound of your breathing and steps.

Her beating heart the drums that ring in her ears, the wet air that sticks to her hair and skin. The stale air finally started to move. That is why when something moves in the corner of her eye, the hair on the back of her neck raises up.

She turns around, gathering the water in the air around her fist. Her eyes slowly adjusted to the dark as she notices a weird shape in front of her, hiding in the veil of darkness and stale air. The figure looks like a weird fungi monster. Its head is that of a mushroom with weird arms like tentacles coming from the side of its mushroom stalk and beneath it.

The weird monster started to glow a bright blue color. With more visible light and vision, she saw how the monster did not have a face or mouth. It looks a lot like the [Light Mushrooms] that grow in the cave walls and provide the light around here. She could only think that this monster must be a mutation of the [Light Mushrooms].

Maybe a mushroom self-reform into the monster that stands in front of her. But she will not stay still and think about this, as she sends two high-speed water balls toward the monster. Water at high speeds can almost solidify and can even take pieces of flesh off your skin.

As the two water balls hit the stalk of the monster, the water exploded as it leaving behind a small open wound on the stalk of the monster. Green-ish blood escapes the wounds, dripping into the water below their feet as they started to turn green. The monster without a sound or scream or pain rushes towards Zhihui, its tentacle arms becoming sharper at the very end. As the monster with some form of skill that let it harden its skin and tissue.

As the monster gets closer, Zhihui gathers more of the water around herself. Slowly channeling the water into a ball in front of her chest, as she gathers more of this water, she sends a water attack at the monster. A strong powerful water stream came from in front of her chest, with such force and high speed that it pierces through the mushroom monster.

But that did not stop the monster, as it seem like she was dealing with another monster that does not stop at normal wounds. As the monster finally got close to her, it sends some of its hardened tentacles toward Zhihui's body. She moves her hands down, in a chopping motion. As she channels her QI in her hands, controlling the wind created by the motion.

Turning the wind into sharp blades, sending it towards the tentacles, cutting two of the tentacles right through the middle. But it still left some tentacles untouched as they get closer to her. She gathers her QI on her feet, controlling the water beneath her feet as she dodges to the side.

The tentacles missing their mark, but the mushroom with no eyes, monster notices her movement, and it sends some of its bottom tentacles to pierce her legs. But the distance between their rank and stage was like heaven and earth. As she notices that this monster is only a mortal rank 8.

She lets the monster pierce her legs; she channels her QI into the blood that came from the new wounds. As she puts her hands on her new wounds, blooding them up as she spills her blood on the monster. With her QI in it, as the blood land on the monster. She started to channel the gravity around it.

As she slowly compresses the gravity around the monster, slowly increasing the gravity press on its body. Slowly crushing its body under the extreme force of gravity. With sweat building up on her forehead, she presses her hands together as the monster turns into a ball of mushrooms. Its green blood painting the walls and the water.

She sighs to herself as she looks at the mushroom ball in front of it, still trying to move and attack her. She grabs this ball in her bloody hands. Enchanting her hand strength with the blood as she crushes the ball into tiny pieces. With the battle over, she gathers the water around her hands.

Pressing her hand on the open wound as she slowly heals the wounds with water. Enchanting the speed of healing as the wound closes and stops the bleeding.

"Thankfully the monsters here seem to be a weak, base of this mushroom guy."

She said as she does not wish to fight another warrior stage monster right after another one. The sound of the system rings in her mind.
