This world is called Zufulong, this world is built on the corpse of a great celestial dragon. At least that is the common interpretation of how this world came to be. This world has two large continents, so big and ever-expanding that there is no full map for either of these continents. The continent is he is in is called Caro. This is the continent where humans, goblins, and spirits are born, die, create culture, and civilizations.
The two most abundant races are humans and goblins, with spirits making up a small portion of this world population. The second continent is called Chaos. A large continent that is full of treasures and powerful and ancient monsters. So dangerous that there are no major cities or civilizations on it, only human or goblin outposts.
People go to the Chaos continent to continue their journey of immortality, but only those of the Grand Elder stage and above have a chance of surviving. But this world has some major features. First thing first, 'Towers' appear in this world.
These 'Towers' contain resources and monsters not normally seen on the open continent. Cultivators can enter these 'Towers' and challenge them, gaining resources and maybe artifacts. These 'Towers' are the backbone of cultivator society. As waiting for these treasures to grow naturally takes too long and with how many cultivators there are, waiting is not an option.
It is even a rumor these 'Towers' connect to other worlds, but most people ignored such claims. Claiming the existence of other celestial dragons is considered heresy by the 'Draconic Lore' church. The largest religion in the 'plains regions', the region Mors is currently on.
Civilization in this world is broken down into 'Sects and 'Clans'. Clans are family units with cultivators, land, and titles. They are the landowners of this world. When multiple clans are close to each other they might join together and form a sect. These sects act as large schools that teach the children of its founding clans' cultivation and aid them better on their journey to immortality.
Sects also act as the governing bodies of this world, dividing themselves into kingdoms, duchies, and empires. Any cultivator can join a sect as long as they pass the opening test, but of course, naturally, these sects will favor the students of its founding clans. This is the reason rogue cultivators are frowned upon. They are outsiders joining a sect and stealing resources from other clan members, future or present.
Sects and clans also have another important feature, they are the ones that control towers. From the towers that disappear once you conquer them, to towers that don't disappear, to invasion towers that pose a threat to everyone. As such joining a sect is very important as those gives you access to the towers in that sect's territory.
As Mors finishes going over the information, he stands up and leaves the library, haven used all of his bought time. As he is greeted with the open street once again, Mors started to walk around. Looking for an inn to rest in.
'Looks like I need to join a clan first before entering a sect. I don't want to attract any unwanted hostility. Man, this is really different from the game, in the game you can join any sect you wanted. As long as you were good nothing else matters'
Mors thinks to himself as he arrives in front of a luxury class inn. Made from well polish bricks, painted in a beautiful red color. Mors decided to pick this hotel as his staying place. As he walks past the two menacing-looking guards, Mors opens the double wooden doors.
Greeted with the smell of fresh wood. In front of him is a large open room with a receptionist desk on the end. Next to this desk, on either side are stairs leading upwards. Mors walks towards the desk, as he gets closer to it. He could see the beautiful woman that stands behind the desk. Probably hired for her beauty to swindled any arrogant master of their gold.
"Welcome to "Sleeping Giants", how might I help you with it?"
"I want a room for 1 week."
"You are in luck sir, we have one single bedroom available for you"
"Really now? Great to hear, how much?"
"2500 gold coins"
"cheap"
The woman's beautiful face twitches a bit when she hears Mors call the prize cheap. No matter how long she works here, she can never get used to how these golden spoons screw the conception of money.
'ah…. I can't deal with rich people. At least this guy is calm and is not trying to flirt with me'
As Mors makes 2500 coins appear on the table, the woman started to count the gold coins. After making sure it's the right amount, she takes out a piece of paper and asks for Mors to fill it up. Mors fills it up in a matter of minutes. Giving the woman the paperback as she gives him a key with a room number attached to it.
"This is the key to your room, we will be serving dinner at 8 pm. So, feel free to go to the dining room and order something to eat. If you wish to have food delivered to your room, it will cost extra."
Mors nods his head as he walks up the stairs, using the stairs to the left of the desk. As he walks up the stairs, he goes past the dining room. That makes up the entirety of the second floor. After finding his room, Mors enters it and started to explore it.
Seeing the beautiful bathroom and soft bed that he will be using for 1 week. 10 times better than the bed and bathroom he used to have in his old life.
"Man..I can see why rich people want more money. After living like this is hard to go back"
Mors said to himself as he started to cultivate as he waited for dinner to be ready. As 9 pm hits, Mors gets out of his room and started to walk to the second floor. Ready to taste luxury food.
