Chapter 43 - Mi Yeon

Ten minutes would pass while Mi Yeon meditated over her realization

During that time Myeol Mang stood against the training hall doors to keep anyone from coming in and disturbing them.

'Is she obtaining the same realization I did when I first saw the Seven Heavens Sword? Or is she having an entirely different realization?' Myeol Mang thought as the hue around Mi Yeon began to fade.

A moment later, Mi Yeon's eyes would slowly open with a calm gaze. However, her eyes did not reflect her true emotions, as the moment she stood up off the ground she began jumping with glee.

"Hahahahaha! I finally had a realization!" Mi Yeon yelled out while jumping, completely forgetting that Myeol Mang was still in the training hall.

"Congratulations on your realization, Mi Yeon." Myeol Mang spoke aloud as he walked up to her.

Hearing Myeol Mang's voice, Mi Yeon turned around.

"Myeol Mang! I completely forgot you were here! But that doesn't matter, thank you for showing me your sword technique once more. It let me see the shortcomings in both my own training, and the training we put you through earlier." Mi Yeon said, bowing deeply to Myeol Mang as she did so.

"It's no problem, Mi Yeon. Realizations are a huge blessing, especially in our current situation."

"They really are a blessing, now, would you mind assisting me in testing out my new strength?" Mi Yeon asked, standing up straight and walking over to the wooden swords lined up against the wall.

Myeol Mang smirked as he shifted his gaze between Mi Yeon and his master, who hadn't said a word since Mi Yeon burst into the training hall.

"Sure, but don't think it'll be so easy for you just because you achieved a realization." Myeol Mang replied with clear arrogance in his tone.

Woosh!

A wooden sword flew across the training hall toward Myoel Mang, as Mi Yeon had thrown it at him after picking a sword out for herself.

"Let's begin then." Mi Yeon replied calmly as she readied a stance, her eyes staring keenly at Myeol Mang.

Myeol Mang, however, hesitated for a moment. This was his first spar with martial arts, which was already nerve-racking. But having your first spar within the same day you learned a technique was too much for him to handle at once.

However, his master's voice entered his mind once more.

["Just use the Seven Heavens Sword's first formation as I taught you, you should be able to win with just that."]

'Tch, he just keeps jumping to assumptions doesn't he?' Myeol Mang thought as he entered the Seven Heavens Sword stance.

Not even a moment later, Mi Yeon and Myeol Mang flew at each other with their techniques aimed to kill each other.

Mi Yeon and Myeol Mang's sword techniques clashed with a ferocious 'crack!' upon every strike. Causing splinters of wood to fly off in every direction as the two fought.

Myeol Mang quickly pivoted his technique and swung his sword at Mi Yeon's neck.

However, just as his sword was about to connect with Mi Yeon's neck, she swung her sword upward with all her might, trying to knock Myeol Mang off balance as the swords collided.

Crack!

Yet neither Myeol Mang nor Mi Yeon had moved back a single step. Rather, both of their swords had broken upon impact from the force being emitted by the two.

Myeol Mang quickly jumped back several feet from Mi Yeon and looked down at the splintered wooden sword in his hand.

"I guess we used a bit too much internal energy, huh Mi Yeon?"

Clack!

Tossing the broken sword aside, Mi Yeon placed her palms together and closed her eyes and began to circulate her internal energy.

"Mi Yeon?" Asked Myeol Mang as he tossed away his broken sword.

Heiiik!

A sharp blue sword of energy slowly formed around Mi Yeon's right hand.

Mi Yeon's realization had pushed her beyond the Realm of Acceptance and into the Realm of Truth, as she had already unlocked her conception vessel but lacked the realization to achieve the next stage.

"What the hell is that?!" Myeol Mang exclaimed, walking up to Mi Yeon to examine the sword of qi manifested on her hand.

"This is called Sword Qi, usually you would wrap this around your weapon to make your attacks stronger and harder to deflect. However, you can still use Sword Qi to make a sword entirely out of qi like this if you don't have a weapon to wrap the qi around." Mi Yeon replied, carefully waving the sword qi through the air.

"Sword qi … Should we test how sharp it is?" Myeol Mang asked, walking over to Mi Yeon's broken wooden sword and picking it up.

However, as Myeol Mang bent over to pick up the wooden sword, the deep blue color of Mi Yeon's Sword Qi began to fade.

"Hurry, I can't maintain the sword qi for much longer." Mi Yeon said as Myeol Mang stood up with the wooden sword in hand.

"Here goes nothing!" Myeol Mang said, tossing the wooden sword at the slowly fading Sword Qi.

However, despite Mi Yeon's sword qi losing strength with every second that passed, it still managed to cleave cleanly through the wooden sword.

As the last piece of wooden sword was cut by the sword qi, Mi Yeon's sword qi faded completely, as her internal energy had been completely drained.

"Wow… Even a weakened sword qi is pretty strong, huh?"

Myeol Mang walked over to the two cut pieces of wooden sword laying on the ground, curious as to how cleanly they had been cut by the sword qi.

"Yeah…" Mi Yeon replied softly with ragged breath.

However,

Thump!

Mi Yeon's depleted internal energy had caught up to her, causing her to pass out where she stood.

"Mi Yeon?" Myeol Mang asked, turning around at the sudden noise he heard.
