When Cedric entered the foyer of his house, he heard it.
Laughter and conversation originating from the kitchen. Wonderful smells too.
He turned to the direction he was going anyway, putting his suitcase down on the sofa. Before Rosie had come to live with him, only empty silence filled the house. Now he wondered if he could live with it because he was used to be greeted with noise now rather than quietness.
Rosie and Calypso were cooking something. Aiden sat behind the bar, talking to Rosie, making her laugh. Calypso had her gaze down on the counter, trying her hardest not to partake in the conversation but she was hiding a smile. And while Cedric was taking all this beauty, Rosie's eyes found her and the biggest smile appeared on her lips.
"You're home." She moved to him and gave him a soft, lingering kiss. "Welcome back, Mr. Orion."
He caught her waist when she was pulling away. "That's it?"
"That's what?"
"My welcome kiss?"
