Rosie woke up the next morning, flat on her stomach, arms wrapped around and underneath a pillow. She peeled an eye open and looked to the alarm clock on her nightstand. She groaned and buried her face into the pillow. It was just fifteen minutes past 5 in the morning.
She tried to get back to sleep.
It was still way too early to get up.
But the rest of last night came tumbling into her head and she was unable to do as she intended.
For the remainder of dinner, she and Aiden talked about how he and Cedric had fared during their business trip. The duck had been delicious but the desserts were sublime. The blackberry mousse in honey tuiles was definitely her favorite for sure, as well as the crème au caramel. She'd also helped herself a lot to the one of the best wines in her life.
This might have been why she almost drank the whole bottle.
Or perhaps it was because they were at the restaurant for some time.
