Chereads / Trapped with a Demon Prince / Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9

His smile faded and he turned off the gas on the stove before facing her. Then slowly, he moved closer to her, concern flashing across his handsome face.

“You’re not okay…” he said and Zary snapped out of her daze. The earlier endearment that he had used on her was still echoing in her head until this moment.

“What did you… just call me?” she questioned him.

He tilted his head slightly. “Honey…” he repeated with a voice sounding like thick and sweet honey itself and eyes gleaming like golden gemstone in the dark. “You don’t like that one? Then what about babe? Sweetheart? Baby…? Hmm… Lo –”

“Stop.” Zary held up her hand to stop him from speaking further and rattling off more endearments. But then her gaze fell to his naked and broad chest. “Where are your clothes? Didn’t I give you a set to wear before leaving?” She frowned as she felt the effects of that exposed chest had on her.

For some reason, it took him a while to respond. “I… ruined it.” His face looked a little sheepish yet there was a tinge of rebellious streak seen as well. As though saying that he would not lower himself to dress himself in those rags she called clothes.

Zary’s eyes stretched wide as he met her gaze.

“I’m sorry.” He uttered in a low voice, causing Zary to pinch the skin between her brows. Her eyes caught the food on the table.

“So this is why you’re cooking for me? Because you had done something bad… wait a moment.” She looked like she finally remembered the real issue here. “How… how on earth did you even know how to cook?!”

Her voice was filled with disbelief as her eyes scanned the kitchen. It was impeccably clean and there were no signs of an amateur cook being there at work at all. Everything was so organised – more organised that before, in fact, that even the vegetables were arranged according to some categorisation! How the hell did a sex robot do these?!

“I learned it.” he replied easily with a casual shrug. That action itself lending more credibility to how natural he seemed and so non robot like.

“What?! You… learned it?” Zary spluttered. Where on earth would he have learnt something like this? Were there so many things being programmed into him? Zary wondered absent-mindedly.

“I am learning on how to be the perfect boyfriend you want, master. Didn’t you say you wanted a boyfriend?”

“W-what?”

Zary’s lips were gaping now, utterly speechless.

“It’s not that hard, honestly. As long as I have clear instructions to follow, I can do anything.” He added, causing Zary to become even more dumbstruck that she did not even know what to say anymore for some time.

“R-really? Who gave you the instructions then?”

“My system.”

“Oh,” was all she could say when Sam lifted a fork to her lips. She then suddenly smelled the mouth-watering piece of meat he was offering, and she swallowed her saliva.

“Please have a taste, master.” He grinned as he held the perfectly sliced meat to her mouth.

Zary glanced at him then opened her mouth. She chewed the meat, a little adamant in being very critical about it at first but eventually, her eyes slowly circled.

“How is it, hon?”

That sentence almost choked her. But at that moment, she was more shocked at the taste of the food in her mouth than his endearment. It was phenomenal!

Once she swallowed the delicious piece of meat, Zary looked at him and said, “Shut down, Sam.”

Silence then reigned in the kitchen.

Zary kept her eyes at the now immobile as stone hottie standing before her. He was not breathing. There was no heartbeat, nor pulse. He was no different from a mannequin in the shopping malls – albeit he was one that is crazy hot.

Biting her lips, Zary looked around again and stared at all the food that was laid on the table.

“Ah, I’m going crazy.” She shut her eyes and weariness flooded her at the thought of what just happened to her on her way back home.

Things seemed to be getting crazier. She just experienced something that logic could not explain when she was outside. And at home, her sex robot was now cooking for her too like he was… a professional human chef! It was truly getting harder for her to believe that he was really a robot. But then whenever she shuts him down like this, her suspicions were being shut down as well!

Weakly, she lowered herself on the chair. She kept her eyes on the food and let out a deep breath. The fact that she had miraculously survived that supposedly inevitable accident had caused her to rethink her plans. She realized that there was really no point of her wasting her remaining moments thinking and kept being unsure about everything now.

Her time was ticking. Perhaps she will just go with the flow right now and adopt a ‘come what may’ mentality from here on. She must stop wasting time and ruining the mood by being so suspicious of her robot and just accept what she had thought was impossible and illogical, right? It was time for her to live some! If not now, it would be never.

“That’s right, Zary! Stop wasting the time that you don’t actually have in the first place, damn it! You might die tomorrow and then what?” she scolded herself, her eyes brimming with newfound will now.

Her chair screeched on the floor as she stood. Then she approached Sam and faced him with much determination.

“Open your eyes, Sam.” She ordered.

The robot’s lashes fluttered before his golden gaze refocussed and stared back at her.

“Your food is delicious. We should eat dinner now.” Zary filled in the silence.

He did not speak and just kept his gaze trained on her.

His body moved and Zary thought that he was going to turn around and face the stove again to continue what he was doing right before she had arrived home.

“Let me comfort you first.” he said as he stopped a step before her, spreading his arms a little.

That action shocked Zary at first then the shock turned into something more emotional. She suddenly felt like crying.

Before she knew it, she crashed herself against him. Maybe so she could hide her emotions from him.

“It’s alright, Zary. I am here for you.” His warm and dulcet tone seemed to caress her ears and calm her nerves that she had not known was agitated.

She smiled and could not help but hug him back. It seemed that she was so hungry for comfort, for someone to give her this kind of warmth that once she caved in, she went seeking for that comfort herself.

“Don’t send me away, master.” He whispered. “I will learn how to be a perfect boyfriend. You can teach me as well. I’m a fast learner and as long as you give me clear instructions, I can guarantee I can do anything.”
