When Lexy returned to the table, Luke wasn't there. He'd said something about seeing someone he knew in the crowd. So for a little while, she didn't have his eyes on her. Those beautiful dark eyes were filled with so much caution and so many questions that she felt a little overwhelmed.
What exactly was he waiting for? It would help if he talked to her. Gave her any kind of clue as to what he was thinking or what he thought of her. Instead, he kept silent as if waiting for her to make the first move.
Lexy wasn't afraid of making the first move once she was certain what move she wanted to make, like hopping a plane to California to visit him unannounced. Once she had set her mind on doing it, she had been quick to act. It wasn't until the plane had touched down that she had second thoughts. Most of those thoughts were centered on why she was running to Luke.
